Bad Bob wrote:Good shout on RVP, Mick. I rate him very highly as a player, although--like many Arsenal players--he seems to be made of glass. He could lead the line in Torres' absence but I think he would excel in "the hole" if Gerrard were out. Alternatively, he would probably be effective down the left in the 4-2-3-1 as he's got a sweet left peg. He might even be an option down the right in that formation, as he seems to like to cut infield and get shots away with his left (much like Babel does on the left when he's not running into people).

The main problem with van persie Bob may not be his physical structure, more of his mental frailty. When I was in London I knew a few lads who knew a few lads and Van persie is by all accounts a bit of a strange one. Not saying he's a bargepole merchant and evidently he has improved from his tearaway days, but definately needs managing.
Tell the truth I didn't even know he was left footed. When I replay in my head that brilliant goal he scored against us at the Emirates this season, he hits that with his right and if I'm not going even more mad, I'd agree with you and suggest that he is good enough to play right side as well as left.
Top player though, I've always really rated him ever since they got him. When they're all fit, they are up there with Man Utd as having the most quality in depth up top in the Premiership. Adebayor, Van Persie, Eduardo, Arshavin and Bendtner are a decent bunch of strikers in anyones language.

He would improve Man Utd's team out of all recognition, as would the holder Porto had when they played them.

It's with his left Mick
Scottbot wrote:Santa Cruz - I like him, watched him play for Blackburn at Fratton Park earlier this season and was very impressed, he's a tidy player, intelligent, excellent hold the ball up and linking play (better than Crouch I would say) and is tremendous in the air. Is he worth the money we would have to pay with City also chasing him? No.

Ooops.
I only know my local league and Liverpool, so I take it there's a new Alves out there right?
I watch little international football bar Liverpool and Spanish league, sorry for that. How is he as a player Gybs?
P.S. I've looked google and I didn't remember Boro had him. I should start watching MOTD to know more rival players of this league.
