He's 31 and would be perfect back-up for Torres as it's hard to see Rafa going with 2 out and out strikers ever in a game. Whether Trezeguiet would like to be a back up is a different story.

What is this obsession with former good strikers? Trezeguiet, Kanu, McCarthy ffs. Did we learn nothing from Morientes.

Id welcome both adriano and Ronaldinho with open arms as they both posess what we desperately need- flair to unlock stubborn defences...

Quality, experienced striker would be a plus or a really exciting young prospect. Both are good.  :D

Precisely. Last thing we really want to be is a club that players see out their last years at the top level at and whose best years are probably behind them. I am not alone in thinking (at the time) that signing a 28 year old Robbie Keane was a bit of a risk, that and the fact that we paid way over the odds for him. fergie paid three times what spudz did for Berbatov, he's only six months younger and a lot of manc fans are unimpressed with him.

Not sure we should pursue Santa Cruz, he did have a cracking first season but hasn't he been hampered by injury this? By the time the window opens he'll be approaching 28 and Blackburn may well want £18m+ for him too - deja vu? 6 goals in 27 appearances for Blackburn this season, did score against us, the mancs and the bitters ie three of the top six.

All the best English strikers are either going to be too expensive or not good enough. Most of the best non-English strikers in the Premiership will cost a bomb, be too old to risk or not repeat their performances at the previous club.

We may end up with Voronin back, Hertha sit fourth at the moment albeit only two points behind 2nd and 3rd, but also only one point ahead of Stuttgart in 5th. Hertha have played more home games than the teams above them.

I think that buying an expensive young striker would really hurt the progress of our very promising young strikers.  That is why I want us to go for someone like Trezeguet or Henry, but only if they're available for cheap.

personally i think henry would be a brillian cover for torres but considering expensive wages etc i dont think rafa would consider him. Doubt henry wants to leave anyway.

We can always get saviola on loan and see how he adapts to the premier league , madrid don't need him anyway

Ronaldinho doesnt have any drive left in him and Rafa would never go for that sort of high profile character either. Adraino has serious mental problems. I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

What promising strikers? If NGog is promising then keep him as backup. We dont have any other promising strikers. Anyway we have to make the most of our improvments this year and bringing in some old :censored: the answer.

Feck that, taking Vorinin back would be a step back. Who cares if he scored 100 goals in Germany. Over here he didn't do :censored: so if Rafa takes him back id have to question if that was a wise move.

We need someone in their early or mid 20s at most who is established in Europe.

We would never afford Benzema, doesn't he have a silly 50Mil price tag? Also Aguerao only came into his own after Torres left so maybe they cannot work well together? We need someone powerful and big who can hold up the ball. Someone in the Adebayor/Drogba figure. They would be able to fill in for Torres as well as play in that hole where Stevie sits.

Anyway after tonight im happy we got the point but they cut us apart far too easily. I know Arsenal are a good attacking side but we really should have more strengh in depth.

I didn't say we should take him back, I send we may end up with him back. If we don't get suitable or acceptable bids then he's a Liverpool contracted player.

That said, I wouldn't mind if he was on the bench as a third or fourth choice striker, he may not be perfect but what were our options last night? El Zhar? N'Gog? Voronin may not be fantastic, but with seven sub options I'm sure he could do a job.

Good to see Benayoun scoring last night, maybe Rafa will learn from that where he is best used. His insistence on playing him wide when it's clearly not his best position is just another infuriating Rafa trait, like Babel coming on predictably for Riera. I'm hoping Kuyt will work on his crossing and go on from his efforts last night, maybe he can be our RM solution and sway those still doubting him. He could easily have had a hat-trick of assists.
