unfortunatly some people will always be blind and narrow minded in there dislike for him no matter what he does for the team - pretty sad people if you ask me . but you get them whereever you go .

Dirk has performed really well this season without a doubt. He can make mistakes but who doesnt. Even though his out of his preffered position i have to hand it to the fella his done extremely well.
Anyhow im still on the view that we need a quality, natural right mid player to take kuyts place!

who will be this winger that has performed better than kuyt over the season and one we can afford and can realistically get ?

well me obviously im free so wouldnt be a problem.  :D

Was thinking of silva, ribery or joaquin maybe.. silva, ribery seems a little too expensive though..  Wouldnt even mind Aaron lennon, valencia.

well silva is not really a right winger , Ribery would cost well over 40 mil odd - joaquin is nowhere nearr the the player he used to be . lennon may have loads of pace but his end product is awful and kuyt has outperformed both him and valencia this season going by the stats ?

Lennon could improve and his end product is not bad. Kuyt at times fecks up in similar circumstances. I would prefer some one that pacey in the wings and offers attacking burst. We are lacking that alot.

Could improve ?? he has been around for a number of years now and people been waiting for him to improve already and he hasnt yet. Yes kuyt has fecked up in certain situations but his end product both goalscoring and assits is better than lennon , there is no point having pace if you dont use it correctly - gonzalez had pace ,pennant has pace, babel has pace but means feck all if they dont use it correctly and have no end product

lLennon is better than all those players you mentioned.
Lennon is only 22 i think and has many years ahead of him but would agree kuyt has been better than him this season. Lennon is maybe a secondary choice anyhow there must be a quality pacey natural right wing player out there who we could get.

why do we need a  winger ? do we have the forwards at the club that thrive on balls coming in from wingers ? not in my eyes - more need is a creative wide player who can be more mobile as opposed to a touchline hugger .

Yes, but there is absolutely no need whatsoever for you to come running to his defence EVERY time the lads name is mentioned in a negative light.

There can't be a single person on these boards that is in the dark about how you feel about Dirk.

OR gerrard or benny or kuyt or any one else in team ?

Biggest load of bollo.cks I ever heard Not to get winger just cos we don't score goals with out heads.

 I guess the mancs score most of there goals with there heads too ? what a joke !

excuse me where did i say that torres doesnt score goals with his head ? you will have to show me . i said "our players dont thrive on balls being thrown into to the box from wide areas " - where does torres get most of his goals from ?! balls fed into his feet or balls for him to run onto . to have out and out wingers you need a big cf to  attack them constantly . we mix it up , sometimes we go wide and players like kuyt and reira throw the ball in , a lot of times they cut in creating space to feed the ball into gerrard or torres or to create space for the fullbacks to overlap . but we dont play with any touchline huggers and our play isnt set up for a touchline hugger .

if your going to critize my post read it properly before attempting to do so .

I think another right winger or left for that matter, but particulary a right winger would suffice.

Our wide players especially Kuyt are too static in possession with the ball, Rieira isnt so predictable and static as Kuyt in possesion but his general game has plateaued out if not slightly wilted as the season has gone on. Kuyt has proved how important he is to the team but so many times this season and last where we have been at home playing the likes of Stoke or Birmingham failing to break down the buses. A substitution of industry to guile would of been an ideal tonic and probababilty in opening up a team. If there is anywhere across the frontmen where we lack guile it is in Kuyts position, saying that he does seem to have the knack to pop up with match winning goals and he is a decent asset; just not a constant regular IMO everyweek neither is Rieira though.

This guy is really looking the part for Spain in the Confederations Cup. He has been arguably there best player so far and looks technically sound on the ball. If he didnt already play for us then we would be screaming to sign him.

Lets hop he carry's this into next season

Yeah I hope so mate. He was really good in the first half of the season but later on he sort of switched of at times. He needs to work on his consistensy but I think maybe playing with Spain will help that. Is he their first choice on the left now? Happy for him.

Isn't Silva the first choice left and if he isn't would he be an improvement on Reira if we signed him?

Of course how could I forget about him. :D Though I think Silva can play on the right too, and even centre.

He would definatley be an improvment on Riera though.
