Aston Villa will want an astronomical transfer fee for John Carew, just cast your mind back to how much they wanted for Gareth Barry.

I hope villa do want a lot for Carew, and price themselves out of offloading him. He's 30 ffs, and haven't we gone down the long ball to target man route before? How often did Crouch and Torres play together? I pray Rafa doesn't look to bring in a player that might disrupt our system or style
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

How about Diego from Werder Bremen? We could with a lot more creativity or fail that we have a cheeky punt at Joe Cole?

I like Diego. What about that young fella up front for Wolfgang united are tapping up?

I rate Joe Cole highly but he is too small, too injury prone and too southern lol

I'd love to see Diego come into this team and work with Gerrard and Torres.  And with Werder out of CL maybe he'd be up for a move.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

The lad you are thinking of is Bosnian striker, Edin Džeko! There has been several posts about him in this thread, indeed I recommended him a few days ago. Wonderful player, too good to be plying his trade in Germany.

Goal against Belgium.

He has been linked with Sunderland and Arsenal, I was unaware of interest from United.

I think Joe Cole has been wasted at Chelsea, the lad has always had to play second fiddle when he is most potent attacking player in terms of creativity and bringing players into the game. btw, Diego is also a very small player, as is Kaka and you wouldn't turn them away from the club or would you?  :;):

I'd imagine he'd jump at the chance to play for Europe's finest team. Werder Bremen or Liverpool, that's a tough decision, I would hope that Diego wouldn't be stupid enough to remain loyal to a club that is far too small for him. Certainly my main concern would be how much Werder would demand for their main asset and whether or Man City inflate the price out of our price range.

Yeh united have been touted around. You are, obviously, right about Kaka but Cole isn't as good as Kaka is he...? He is at chelsea, who wouldn't sell him to us unless we paid silly money either. But I know what you mean.Dzenko

The bigman I like is Cardozo. He's about 6'5 with a ripping left foot and scores for fun with his head.  Would be a fantastic impact player for us

haven't read the whole thread admittedly but I haven't seen anyone mention Javier Saviola's name yet. Throw that into the mix for sure - the guy is absolutely world class, as he showed when he tore us apart playing for Deportivo La Coruna, furthermore he wants out at Real because he's not getting ANY games there (How he didn't make it off the bench to play against us at Anfield when they were 2-0 down is beyond me) and they want rid. Snap him up for £6-8million and plough more finances into the wing areas. :p

That's a good shout actually.... how old is he?

If we could buy a classy striker like him for less than ten mill we would hopefully have enough money left to put into wingers.
