Well I did Man U to draw against Villa and Arsenal, and us to win all our games except
W Ham Away (draw) - that puts the Mancs on 88 and us on 86 pts.

Reading that felt like losing it  :(

just doin my own predictor there, I reckon we MUST win every game to win the title. I cant see the Mancs losing again so I reckon we have to hope they draw three, and if we draw then we're relying on them drawing another

like its been said, every game is well and truly a cup final

I believe the mancs have a 100% record against Wigan, in theory Wigan are a decent side but then so are villa and the mancs usually beat them too

vs Wigan : P8 W8 D0 L0 F23 A3

Seven league meetings, seven manc wins. They did only beat Wigan 1-0 at old trafford, but average about three goals a game and their favourite scoreline is 4-0 (three times) Wigan have managed just three goals against the mancs, never more than one in any game, while the mancs only instance of scoring one against Wigan is the one I mentioned above. If you bet, have money on the mancs winning that one and scoring at least twice.

Last 10 league vs Aston Villa : P10 W9 D1 L0 F23 A3 PTS 28

villa scored twice in a season against the mancs in 06/07 when they played them in three games, otherwise you have to go back to 01/02 for the previous time they scored twice against the mancs in one season. Last time villa beat the mancs was in the League Cup in 99/00. villa haven't beaten the mancs in the league since 95/96, I wish the leprechaun would come out and tell us "not to expect too much", but I doubt he's that realistic or willing to admit it. Maybe that can't work two games in a row, although the loss at Fulham was down to the red card and Scholes' stupidity in handling on the line with nothing to gain by doing so.

At the start of the season I said I'd be happy if we were still mounting a title challenge in April and had gone out of the CL in the group stages. It's been so long since we've been in with a realistic shout at the title that I would have viewed it as acceptable progress.

We've achieved the above and more. What's more we look a better side now than we have for as long as I can remember. We still need to develop the squad but at the moment it's all very encouraging.

Unfortunately for us Arsenal have hit top form in recent games. It's a pity we play them before United and Chelsea. They've also had a lot of quality players return from long term injury. That Tuesday evening game is massive.

LFC's best for first 31 Games:

1.  1987/88  -  76 points  [finished 1st:  90 points from 40 games]
2.  1982/83  -  70 points  [finished 1st:  82 points from 42 games]
3.  2008/09 –  67 points
3.  1983/84  -  63 points  [finished 1st:  80 points from 42 games]
3.  1990/91  -  63 points  [finished 2nd: 76 points from 38 games]
5.  1989/90  -  62 points  [finished 1st:  79 points from 38 games]
5.  2001/02  -  62 points  [finished 2nd:  80 points from 38 games]

Numbers from RAWK.

although Arsenal are on top form for them for the season, so are we, and our top form is better.

If our GD is still higher... them drawing 2 would be enough for us to win the title...

It's going to be tough but we just have to treat every game as a cup final. At least Riera and a few others got some rest this weekend.

United v Villa about to kick off.

Teams:

Man U - Van der Sar, Neville, O'Shea, Evans, Evra,
            Nani, Carrick, Fletcher, Ronaldo,
            Giggs, Tevez.

Subs: Foster, Park, Welbeck, Gibson, Martin, Macheda, Eckersley.

Villa - Friedel, Luke Young, Cuellar, Davies, Shorey,
         Milner, Petrov, Barry,
         Ashley Young, Carew, Agbonlahor.

Subs: Guzan, Delfouneso, Knight, Salifou, Reo-Coker, Gardner, Albrighton.

United's bench looks very threadbare - Cmon Villa!

Just noticed that for the next few weeks we play before Utd meaning we can constantly put the pressure on utd if we get the right results. That should give us a bonus lift.
