i'm concerened about this season. and this thread is about owen. hence the stats.

For what its worth... I really hope keane comes good. I was one of many who celebrated his arrival, and I really like him as a player. I'm 100% behind him - but there is that chance that he will not regain what he had a spurs and hinder more than help us - am concerned about our lack of goals without Torres at the moment, and see Owen as a possibility

Fair enough

We will agree to disagree  :D

Owen should have stuck with us though for a few more years but one has to respect ones choice. It was his loss not ours. Without him i presume we are doing quite well. Top of the table and added a few cups since his gone. Even though i felt like ripping off his maggot and tearing it through his a$$(when he left) , i still wouldnt slag him off. He was one of our great strikers.

Ok lads and ladies lets try and build a list of 10 good reasons for and against owen comming to club and see where we are after that.
I will start with a FOR

If Owen comes he will at least bag a goal every 2 games which would be at keanes current rate of goals will be 900% more.  :eyebrow

The Rockford's ain't no laughing matter, I'vve had me share of them over't years. On the question of Owen, it seems to me that most people are broadly in agreement. I don't think many are advocating paying 6-7-8 million for him, nor offerning him 150K per week, but if we can get him for between 2-5 mill (hopefully about 3) and sensible wages, he simply must be an option at least.

As far as his transfer from Madrid is concerned, many people blame Owen but I can't help thinking it was Newcastle Football Club who were more at fault for offering a fecking ridiculous fee. The transfer was more about them outbidding one of the "big boys"" than it was about actually signing Owen. As their bid was 5 mill higher than our fairly sensible 12 mill bid, it left us and him nowhere to go really. If there'd been a 2 million discrepancy we and he might have been able to pull it off, but not when them dopey feckers offer 17 million.
