Do you remember Baros going to Aston Villa? Lyon (I think) had offered around £2,000,000 more but Baros didn't want to go. We had to settle for Villa's lower offer.
There has been others - I am sure.
Morientes. We bid what 6mil? And Newcastle bid 16Mil.

I don't remember Newcastle bidding for Morientes Bav? They had just paid £17million for Owen, I can't see that they would have had another £16million to bid for Morientes mate. I remember Spurs almost signed Morientes for £12million the season before we signed him. I think Morientes chose to go on loan as he still had hopes of regaining his place with R.Madrid at the time.

They bought Owen after we got nando mate - think there was rumours about them wanting him at one point .

Yeah you are right mate, I still can't recall them making an offer for Morientes though. Pity they didn't sign him though, might have saved us a few quid.

Think it was just paper talk mate - there was talk of a ten mil plus offer at begining of season but we got him in jan for half the price . still rate nando just dont think he was a player who could play in the prem .

His wages would be a drain on the clubs income, in respect to the games he is actually fit for.
The lads attitude is in question and his application to the importance of Liverpools cause.
Finally when Owen was at Liverpool he was a top player ,but at Newcastle he's a liability, ok he will always slot ,but even Keane is struggling to adapt to life at Liverpool.

I must compliment you on your well scripted retort," bravo dolt ".

Id like to think that legbarnes was calling owen a
rather than the other poster.... but probably not.
Owen doesnt deserve to be called a
either tbh...
Once again I am hoping for people to be better people than they probably are.... hopefully own will swallow his pride if offered a spot at anfield by realising he is better on the bench at liverpool fighting for the club he loves whilst also taking a wage cut as a result of his obvious lack of fittness, (not now, but as a person he isnt fit, hes always injured) its not like he needs the money.
If he wants to fight for his career / reputation anfield would be a great place to do it. Come here be 2nd choic striker alongside kuy and keane and try rebuild his career.
if he came on the cheapish, lowered his wages and made a statment about his love for the club, a form of apology / peace offering to the fans, I would love to see him back at the club.
having said this Rafa wont buy him...
