I don't think many are advocating paying 6-7-8 million for him, nor offerning him 150K per week, but if we can get him for between 2-5 mill (hopefully about 3) and sensible wages, he simply must be an option at least.

As far as his transfer from Madrid is concerned, many people blame Owen but I can't help thinking it was Newcastle Football Club who were more at fault for offering a fecking ridiculous fee. The transfer was more about them outbidding one of the "big boys"" than it was about actually signing Owen. As their bid was 5 mill higher than our fairly sensible 12 mill bid, it left us and him nowhere to go really. If there'd been a 2 million discrepancy we and he might have been able to pull it off, but not when them dopey feckers offer 17 million.

I agree mick was just one of those things its in the past we need to let go and not forget but maybe just forgive a little.

Lifes to short for these grudges.  :grinning:

What you mean instead of the bizarre all over the bloody pitch position which Keane adopts  :wwww

I don't like Owen, never really have as a person, but if we can get him for cheap money and sensible wages as Big Mick is suggesting then I'd be for it, he is a proven goal scorer and would be good for this season then we can get someone decent in the summer without loosing too much on Keane.

IMO, at £2M-£3M buying Owen at that price would be an absoulte bargin. I have to admit I was extremely annoyed with the way Michael left but at the same time I now think he does have a real desire to return and he should be given another chance. There are question marks over whether he can work with Torres and suit Rafa's style of play but as people have said "if you're near the end of the match and the score is 0-0 there is only one player you would want to take whatever chances you get" and that is Michael Owen! Signing him in January could have the same kind of effect that Henrick Larrson had when Man U signed him on loan a couple of seasons ago halfway through the season. Ultimately, it could help bring the Premiership throphy back to Anfield!

I voted no, because he is more concerned with his thriving race horse stables than football ,plus the lad gets injured on hearing the word effort .
His wages would be a drain on the clubs income, in respect to the games he is actually fit for.
The lads attitude is in question and his application to the importance of Liverpools cause.
Finally when Owen was at Liverpool he was a top player ,but at Newcastle he's a liability, ok he will always slot ,but even  Keane is struggling to adapt to life at Liverpool.

I like Torres in a 4-2-3-1 and so does Rafa...

He would have to be pretty cheap to make Rafa change things to fit an old/injury-prone striker. You would have to get rid of one of Keane or Babel if you did.

It all depends on the price, I didnt vote

I noticed that!

Only a year older than me, the cheeky :censored:

28 is not old, not even in football terms.

28 is very old when the player is a physical wreck. Remember how when he was still at Anfield he wouldnt commit for a 50/50 ball through fear if injury?  Rose tinted specs etc....

Yes you are, show some class at least and offer a better reply.

Voted No - No idea when he will break down again with another injury so is a liabilty these days - would still score goals and is still a first class finisher just dont think he would play enough to justify what wages he would demand . A fully fit Owen yes but the guys body is a wreck these days . Cant deny his ability thou .
