Not sure about Michael's desire to win trophies! No salary and £225000 per goal is what I would offer him limited to three per game to avoid obvious fiddles - lol !!!! Michael loves money - this could work. On a serious note we all witnessed the very best of MO and it is now time to forget any possible ideas of bringing him back to Anfield. He would be a disruptive influence by his very presence.

I disagree 1001% due to the reason what is your proof he would disrupt the team and also gerrard has said he would welcome him back any day of week ?

Plus isn't owen Carra still top mates out side of footie ?

So really you basis for an agument is flawed to say the least.

Now if you was to say ok he might get injured I might say ok but this is also something every one else has used as reason and i would just laught at you and say give me a real reason.

Owen could be put on contract for 30k per week 25k game bonus 15k goal bonus this would give him insentive to score and play and would protect liverpool with wages.

But lets face the facts all players in prem are protected with insurance for injurys so this is pointless in most cases.

Now only if the reason that the insurance companys wouldn't cover Owen due to his history , this might have to be way deal is done.

Owen = goals , liverpool needs more goals , sounds simple don't it ?

:censored: peoples feelings. He scores goals and thats what we are lacking. It's not rocket science. However with Rafas stubborness it probably wont happen anyway.

1) The tw@t refused to give Rafa a chance when he first came to the club

2) The Dipstick went to Newcastle instead of coming back when he had the chance

3) Injuries

4) Never go back

For the record, I think Heskey will be an even worse signing.

Agreed 100%

People confuse Owen when he was 18/19 with the Owen that left for Madrid. Eighteen year old Owen was World class and first on the team sheet (he took our penalties and we had Fowler for God's sake). The player that left us for Madrid had gained a few pounds and was not as whispy and lightning fast. Still was a great finisher but not as good as when he was eighteen.

My view is never go back, never take back.

That's not the only issue Toff.....

It's not a simple case of 3 million...... You've got to take into account his weekly wages which would be exorbitant and the number of games he would be playing. The price per game to become re-enamored with Michael Owen could be exorbitant.

Plus I honestly don't think that he'll gel with Torres to well..... he's always required a big target man to play off. Their styles would not complement each other, IMO.

But I do agree... at 3 million we would be hard pressed to find another forward of similar quality. I just feel that he's style is not going to complement the attacking balance of the current squad too well...

Kinda of like a beautiful woman in exquisite La Perla underwear..... you want to complement that outfit with maybe a pair of Ferragamo stilettos..... not Alfred Dunhill Riding boots.

Alot of If's and But's Con , but he plays with martins with newcastle who's not crouch and he has been scoring regularly even though he's half fit or coming off the bench . I'm pretty sure he'd take a pay cut to come back to LFC where he has a chance to win trophies rather than stay at newcasle , or got to everton or spurs . He seems to have his injury troubles behind him as he has played majority of newcastle's games this season   ,  for that price again its got to be worth a punt .

thing is, his wages are just based on impressions. no one knows if he is gonna demand more. no one knows anything about it so its all impressions and judgments.

he can always be 2nd striker to Torres...but this could end up like a case where some think Alonso and Gerrard cant play together.

its like...role play. sometimes i like a vixen in Ferragamo stilettos. sometimes i go for the Harley Davidson biker babe  :D

Exactly.

Are we so wrapped up in whether one striker can play with another that we will only ever have one quality striker? Wasn't that the issue with Fowler and Owen? If they are good enough strikers then they can play with each other, our problem before this run of draws at home was Keane missing chances and let's face it, Torres is looking as injury prone as Owen so the odds of both being fit at the same time are looking small.

For £3m you can't go wrong with Owen, plenty will still bury their heads in the sand and refuse to see it as maybe the move that could make us title challengers.
