I'd like to see Rafa take a chance on Jay Spearing. I'd much rather see him playing than someone like Lucas. I've not seen anything significant from Lucas since he's been at the club.

Well he spent 6Mil on Lukas so he probably isnt good enough. What happened to Hobbs and Anderson? Anderson was on the bench a few years ago in a CL match wasnt he? I thought they were both 'on the verge' of breaking into the 1st team.

Anderson's at Nottingham Forest on loan. Not the best of places to be if you're trying to progress. They're rooted to the foot of the Championship, with no signs of moving. I don't know why they didn't keep him at Swansea where his goal tally was in double figures last year.
As for Hobbs, I don't know about him.

Rafa ready to use youngster - Tuesday 2nd December.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is pondering including Adam Hammill in his first-team plans when he returns from his loan spell at Blackpool.

Hammill's loan spell at Bloomfield Road expires in the New Year after Benitez decided to farm out the winger in the summer so that he could gain valuable first-team experience.

The 20-year-old is highly-regarded by the Liverpool coaching staff and he was rewarded with a new three-year deal before he was sent out on loan to Blackpool.

Hammill, who helped Liverpool win the FA Youth Cup in 2006, has impressed at Blackpool and Benitez has been keeping tabs on his progress at the Championship outfit.

Benitez is now thought to believe Hammill is ready to make the step up to the first-team upon his return to Anfield feeling he has matured from his loan spells at Dunfermline, Southampton and Blackpool.

The Reds boss has admitted he is concerned with Liverpool's lack of goals in recent matches and he could see Hammill's creativity as something that could bolster his attacking options in the second half of the season.

Liverpool have struggled to solve their problematic right-sided position with Dirk Kuyt filling in there, but Hammill could be an option to help provide the ammunition for the likes of Fernando Torres and Robbie Keane.

Hammill returns to Reds – Tuesday 30th December

Adam Hammill has been recalled by Liverpool following his successful loan spell at Blackpool.

The 20-year-old is now waiting to see if he will remain at Liverpool for the second half of the season or go out on loan again.

The skilful winger is highly regarded by the Liverpool coaching staff and he was rewarded with a new three-year deal before he was sent out on loan to Blackpool last August.

Hammill impressed during his time at Bloomfield Road with a number of eye-catching performances, including a stunning strike in the local derby with Preston.

Reds boss Rafa Benitez has been keeping tabs on Hammill's progress and the Spaniard will now cast an eye over him in training in the next few weeks before deciding whether to keep him in the Liverpool squad or allow him to go out on loan again for regular first-team action.

Benitez could decide to give Hammill his chance in the side as he has shown he is prepared to give young members of his squad a chance to impress this term after using Nabil El Zhar and David Ngog as impact players off the bench in a number of games.

Blackpool were believed to be interested in extending Hammill's loan deal until the end of the season, but the uncertain management situation at Bloomfield Road following Simon Grayson's departure to Leeds has put that move up in the air.

Hammill has revealed he enjoyed his time at Blackpool and will now wait and see what Liverpool decide is the best option for him in the next few weeks.

"I would like to thank everyone at Blackpool and the fans for their support during my loan spell," Hammill told skysports.com.

"It's a great club with a good group of players and I really enjoyed my time there.

"I signed a new contract with Liverpool in the summer and I will see what they want to do next with me.

"If they wanted to loan me out again I would always be interested in a return to Bloomfield Road in the future."

Is Preston maybe too big a game for him? We are out of the league cup so I dont really see any other chance this season unless we incurr a few injuries.

If he's going to succeed at Anfield then he needs to start making a few appearances for Liverpool - at his age it's coming up to make or break time. How often have we loaned someone out and them broken into the first team? He's surely got a decent chance given his playing position, but we can want the kids to do well as much as we want, but along will come another £5m+ signing and any slim hopes will be crushed.

Same goes for Hobbs and Martin, playing well in League One is hardly the same as Premiership. Can you see Martin getting in ahead of Reina? Or Hobbs breaking in as CB or anywhere else for that matter?
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

hasn't looked the business in a red shirt certainly, but he is a 1st choice centre half for one of (if not THE) stingiest defence in League One.

Also we don't need him to replace Carra or Agger. We might need him to fill in for Hyypia when he retires, and we also have San Jose and Kelly competing for that honor. (but if I was forced to make a wager I would play the field)

The lad is :censored: hot , not just on tonights showing . Some of us have watched him since he was 15 and he really needs to be in the first team squad . He will make the grade if given the chance.
