Agger - left back - just a thought?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Sammy is playing really well so why not play Agger at left back instead of Dossena or Rierra at left back and Babel on the left wing. Just a thought or am I getting a bit desperate?

Why not? Better than that sh!te we bought for £7M.

I guess someone will type out a good few paragraphs to explain
the science behind why he can't though.

After yesterday I would play Cavalieri at LB before Dossena

:upside:

TBH i dont see what harm it could do when he can defend and go forward from centre half, though his fitness levels would be tested at fullback more so than his usual position

I really thought Insua would hve started yesteday. However as for Agger he will be off in Jan. Rafa needs to keep him fit and not risk getting him injured if he wants all that 8m.

I've fancied Agger at left-back since before the season started. Have no doubt he could and would do a good job. He's defensively solid, positionally sound, has a sweet left foot and not a bad right foot either. He can dribble and we've seen him drop a shoulder and beat a man on more than one occasion.

I've said it before, Agger left back. Carragher & Skrtel (when hes back) as the CB pairing.

Dossena makes Aurelio look good. That says it all.

Not for me either, think he looks very solid and is a fantastic prospect, dont seel him for 8mill now, keep hold utilise his abilities, train him up to be even better and then if he wants to go sell him for 15. shouldn't let him go and should be having him in Cb everygame, deinately until squirtle's back.

If Dossena stays and Agger goes during the Jan transfer window - then i firmly believe Rafa has lost his marbles.  Agger is a class player who has been very unfortunate with injuries - only two months ago Rafa was saying it was like signing a new player when Agger returned from injury - now he is looking to off-load him.  Is Rafa trying to flex his muscles again by saying no player is too big to be sold??  How he can defend keeping a :censored: like Dossena is beyond belief

While Milan have apparently expressed interest in Agger I've not seen anything that would suggest Rafa would even consider selling him.  Especially considering Skrtel's still not recovered.  So, if I've missed something in the press, kindly post it up.  Otherwise it might be wise not to condemn Rafa for something he's surely not done? ???

Skrtel when fully recovered will more than likely be first choice with Carra as centre backs. What would be wrong with giving Agger a chance as left back when both Skrtel and Carra are playing? Agger could easily do as much as Dossena going forward!
