  you are having a george giraffe.....teams would pay good money.......

I agree though, we have too offload and get what little recompense we can; sadly no teams worth their salt would buy him and the teams that make up the rest of the championship can't afford the exorbitant wages that he pilfers every week.

I am sure it's not his choice to not play

(cue people saying he wasn't rafas first choice blah blah blah)

Yes.

Thats probably why he was on his way to Blackburn in the summer before he changed his mind.

also on his way to stoke at one point - rafa got him as a right sided option when his first target fell through but guess still thought he could do a job for us - i guess now rafa realises maybe he needs a higher standard than what pennant can give us .

Even self confessed Rafa loathers must admit that when he does (as all managers inevitebly will) get it wrong on a tranfer they are usually shipped out soon as.

Who like?
Why were there no bids for him in the last transfer window?

Rumour on the last day suggests there was bids.

I'd say anyone apart from big four and maybe villa as they've got good wingers would take him for a lump of cash.

The biggest rumour was a move to Stoke which he turned down. Problem is he must be on wages that a lot of clubs wouldn't want to, or be able to, match. We can't just agree a fee and offload him, he needs to want to move and he might be happier playing every now and then if it means big money.

The reason I don't have any time for Pennant is he has all the skills on paper, unfortunately it doesn't translate into performances on the pitch. If he were a world class winger who beat his man all the time and got in crosses, scored the odd goal etc, then noone would give a sheet if he tracked back or not. But it's like a spinner who can't bat or field, unless he is a top class spinner then you can't just include him because he occaisionally takes the odd wicket. I make no apology for using cricket to demonstrate the point, it makes the point quite nicely

we could do with a mirror image of Riera for the other wing.

Pennant is a bit hot or cold - not consistant. but I guess he doesnt often get the chances to play much.

save him for carling cup games.

name names then, it can't be me because I never said I hate rafa so there is no self confession there, or are you just trying to stir the sh1t again with falsehoods. Also I haver claimed to help rafa see the light.

I wonder who it can be, its not like you to try and cause squabbles, oh I know, I posted in saints thread so this is your little attempt at retribution

I am nopt trying to cause a squabble, I am simply stating a fact.

The fact is that even sefl confessed Rafa loathers (as in happy clappers and thought police) must admit that Rafa ships out sharpish.

He's the kind of player who when we sell him he will have a game that makes us regret that but the majority of the time we will be happy that he's gone.

I think he falls into some category where he is too good for some premiership teams but just not good enough for top four but would be a liability with teams that battle to survive, Hull being the best example at this moment in time.

In fact I think he's a classic Spurs player

Why is he even contracted for Liverpool if he's that bad?
