I think they are handling that admirably at the moment without Pennant, but he could be the icing on the cake.

He falls into a black hole not skilfull enough and not a fighter

I agree .....the kind of player spurs need to guarantee relegation

Why is he even contracted for Liverpool if he's that bad?

I think that he shows glimpses of being up for it and Rafa must have thought he could handle it but it looks like he cant

Next question..........

Who do we have, apart from Kuyt, who will play there then.

Babel should but some posters believe he is junk too.

Seems the grass is always greener for some people  ???

I'd have Pennant over Benayoun tbh and Gerrard isn't as influential so would be wasted

Pennant v Benayoun I go for benayoun but its opinion at the end of the day.  I wanted pennant to be succesful but it really looks like he is not going to be so it has to be tara.

I would love to see Babel on the right to see what he is made of

Same but looks like a fat chance of that.

I just think some of the criticism of Pennant is unjust, and he's been giving more stick than he's deserved on here.

I think the criticism stems from the fact that he is just not good enough and that is dissapointing yes but also a fact.  Its not personal and I hoped he would become a fixture but it just hasnt worked out that way.

Like I said previously I think he is not good enough for top four

El Zhar every time he has come on has shown more attacking ability than pennant and far more intelligent when he has got the ball .

as far as im concerned hes impressed when he was played so far this season...
hes impressed in patches when he was played last season till he got injured...
hes our best option down the right atm and until we go out and buy a joaquin or Navas or Maxi who would actually improve us down that side id play Pennant there week in week out... hope Rafa plays him in the next few games with Kuyt upfront and if he does a job then that should be the right midfield spot sorted out till we get a new face... not many out there who are better realistic options...and for the record... hes not half as bad as many of you make him out to be... pretty laughable seeing as to some of the people slating his game actually think kuyt is a good player... or let me rephrase that ... oh fck it maybe i shouldnt..

i respect your opinion and everyone elses but thats besides the point mate... hes started 2 games for us this season if im not mistaken... been man of the match for one of them (know some gave it to agger anyones whos watched the game will tell you than pennant was the one who ran the show for us)..
the other game against wigan... he did very well and arguable one of the best players on the pitch that day... selective science or stats can be used to basically back up most arguments so u can throw all the stats u got at me and i still wouldnt believe that kuyt is a better winger than pennant is...
Fact ? as in the fact that Pennant is a better winger than kuyt is ? its not a fact but then again i never said it was... just my opinion...

lets see what pennant does in the next 2 or 3 games he starts and then start comparing his contribution to the team to that of Kuyt's from that same position... again .. hope he starts against atletico

I just think some of the criticism of Pennant is unjust, and he's been giving more stick than he's deserved on here.

  not really... the fact of the matter is we dont' argue over pennant as much as we argue over kuyt do we? you know why that is? that is because most of us think he's not good enough... whereas with kuyt it's more like 50-50... I don't believe we're saying he's got not talent... in fact I think that he's got loads of talent and he was showing that in birmingham and at certain times with us... and I guess that's why rafa bought him... I think that what we have problem with is really his attitude, his willingness to give it all and to try and improve himself... So I'm afraid you're in the minority here when it comes to thinking penant gets more stick than he deserves... the fact is that we don't even spend that much time criticising him and we just accepted that he's somewhat of a loser when it comes to being a footballer...

Against Crewe he did ok -but not exactly high class opposition and pennant on saturday was far from one of the best players on the pitch(that was kuyt) - First half shocking (as pretty much most people have stated) second half a bit better and put in a coupl eof decent crosses but overall did ok. average to ok performance overall.

As for stats- the main ones from a right mid is chances created assists and goals scored - all three kuyt has superior stats than pennant
