Owen's contract should have been sorted last year! Anyone Remember last Christmas and the line of "Owen will sign a new contract, i'm confident he won't leave"

I would blame OWen actually, as he kept coming out last season saying, "yes contract talks are progressing" etc etc
He definately had the powe to sign a new deal, or negotiate one. he only had to say "yes i want to stay, lets get it sorted."
basically he didnt want to be here any longer.
He's a decieving little sh*t.

you aint never gonna get in that real side, by a longshot. you can have a taste of what Baros got on the bench last year.

Perhaps Michael did tarry on signing a new contract (which he patently hasn;t done anyway ) but had we had a stronger maangement at LFC , and by that I don't just mean Gerard Houllier, this situation whereby Real basically get him on the cheap would never have been allowed to happen.
Players will always try and cover all their options but it's up to management to make sure it doesn't harm the club....

FACT - Liverpool FC can sell a player at any time during a players contract
FACT - Had GH or Rik Parry been stronger and actually stood by what they said "No Major player at this club wil be allowed to sit on 2 year contracts until they lapse and leave ona free, it will not be allowed to happen" then we wouldn't be putting £8 Million in the bank it would be considerbaly more

Hustlers Revenge talks total ******. Owen is no Traitor. He gave a lot to Liverpool FC. I blame management for not sorting this out, not Owen for having ambition. It's not Owen leaving that upsets me, it's the fact we haven't got 25 million for him, which he's worth!
