CHELSEA vs LIVERPOOL: 30/04/08 7.45pm - Champions League Semi Final - 2nd Leg

I could not figure out for the life of me why he was lying on the ground trying to head a ball that he should have easily kicked ...

till the poster above made me remember that he does not have a right foot when it comes to football.

We haven't blundered in previous seasons and that has been key to our success. Riise has been average for years, but our best option until this season.  This season has been his worst and this really tops it off.

I thought we played really well, far better than Chelsea. I thought they looked really tried just like Arsenal did. There was no way they where gonna score. Its just bad luck the way things panned out. Riise was just trying to defend and it was just bad luck that he scored an OG.

Thing is, we can afford to rest key players at the weekend. Chelsea cant. Man U are not gonna let them win on Saturday. The league is at stake. So all key players will be played.

We have 8 days to rest players like Torres and Gerrard so bring it on.

Have faith.... Its something I have. My wee Irish league football team, Glentoran, had not beaten Linfield on Boxing day in 18 years and this year we did it!! So always have faith as the impossible can be done.

BRING IT ON

Why are people asking where Sami was ? What difference would it have made, there were TWO centre halfs on the pitch already, what did you want, Sami at left back !

If JAR had left it Anelka would have scored if he had swung his right boot it could just as easily have ended up in the roof of the net.

Raffa got his team and the forced change spot on

We should of scored more but lets not go overboard with the 3-0 and 4-0 suggestions.  Joe Cole, Malouda, Lampard and Kalou all had good scoring opportunities.

Its not doom and gloom.  I think we will score there.

I knew Rafa would kop the blame for it from at least one person.

Explain how the CD pair cost us the goal then, genius...

Because Carra has to save Arbeloa's :censored: all night, look how far he has to go on the right leaving the centre for Riise to cover.

A pretty even encounter for me with a real kick in the nads there at the end. We wasted too many chances for my liking but I think Torres is aloud the odd off day, just a pity it had to be today.

I know there has been a for and against argument Re:Riise's ability/future in a red shirt but for me tonight he proved that this should be his last season at Anfield. I agree that the ball should never have gotten as far as him and discounting luck with the ball dipping on him or not he should never have been heading that ball. He did it earlier in the season if I remember correctly down at Luton and it cost us a lead then as well.

We've got an uphill struggle ahead but we never seem to say die in this competition.
