It's a kick in the teeth no doubt.

We played so well and just lost concentration right at the end.

Oh well.

Nevermind. We are still in a decent position. One goal for us at the Bridge and we are right back in it.

How unbelievably :censored: was that!  Well we had some luck in previous games and now it's turned on us.  I guess we'll have to attack the hell out of them at Bridge, it may not be such a bad thing after all.

Gutted, we were by far the better team and I saw enough in that game to have no worries about going to Stamford Bridge and getting the result we need for number 6.

Cech kept them in the game and I don't remember Reina making any save of note. Plenty of rest for the team when we play Birmingham and go to Stamford Bridge with a fresh team ready to finish the job.

As for JAR, it happens its wrong to blame him for the goal, the cross should NEVER have come in in the first place. W e play better when we are "up against it" anyway, cant wait for Wednesday  :buttrock

A gutter alright but not a total disaster. Hope they can pick themselves up for the return game.
Thought Kuyt had a good game despite going missing for the second half. Ref was an absolute :censored:.
AND HERE COMES AVI COHEN!! OH I SAY - AT THE SAME END HE'S GOT ONE BACK!!!!!!!!!!

After Aurelio came of we lost the momentum. Torres should have put away that chance in the 1st half.

bigmick wrote:I actually think Riise was a bit unlucky TBPH. The cross kind of dipped on him and skidded as well which made his attempted headed clearance fraught with danger as we saw. I would like to have seen the two red shirts around Kalou (I think it was) preventing the cross coming in, but there you go.

I don't think it puts us out of it by any means, though obviously it makes the task more difficult. I just wish we had taken a couple of our opportunities, because we were much the better team tonight as we have been each time we have played them this season. Amazing really when you look at our relative league positions, but whatever I think we can progress to Moscow. This is particularly the case if Drogba puts in a performance like that in the second leg. I thought he was a disgrace, just going through the motions prior to his next big move.

All in all though, as per usual in Europe we put in a stellar performance. I thought Rafa got his team selection spot on, as well as his tactics and I really do think we can still go through from here. Onward and upward.

yeah good performance by the lads sooooooo unlucky....

dont think i agree with you re rafa's tactics...

he got the subs wrong...

benayoun and rise need to be moved on....

they arent cut out for liverpool fc

where was hypia ? was he injured ?

i really like that skertel rock solid in defence with carra

bloody hell can you believe that, why header it anyway when you can wrap your foot around it.

and the cross should never of been allowed in anyway, very slack and very sick
