LIVERPOOL VS BOLTON - build up

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Today, we played great..... Nothing to do with how poor Bolton played..... We caused them to play poorly...

Gerrard and Lucas look really exciting as a partnership.

the league seems to be very competitive this season... all the top 5 teams are competing neck to neck... well arsenal has a bit of advantage but it's still a long way to the title...they will have a blip and we need to grab that opportunity if they do...

excellent performance, last season or earlier this season we would have struggled in this game as rafa would have tried to work out how we could avoid defeat and not concentrate on winning. it seems he has finally grasped the concept of letting the oppo worry about our quality and its paying dividends, added to the end of ludicrous over rotation and breaking the spine of the team every week we are finally starting to look good, if only he sussed this earlier in the season, or sussed it last season even and we could be sitting pretty at the top tonight

Table doesn't look bad now does it? :D

Feck me that Man U game has an extra bit about it now - it's looking like the winner will go into the new year higher up the table.

We're drawing the games we'd have lost last year, and winning the games that we'd previously have drawn. We're well over the blip now, and in all honesty we're looking like title contenders.

I am impressed with lucas he seems to be very calm and composed...

on the other hand the jury is still out for babel for me... he scored a goal yeah... but he seems to be abit too stiff for a winger... he keeps on running into defenders... and this is talking for not only today's game...

nice work by kuyt to get to that gerrard pass and put in a shot on goal... this is how i want kuyt to play...

Peewee, not wanting to argue after a great result but Rafa's rotating every bit as much as he was earlier in the season (see the debate in the rotation thread).  This notion that he's "seen the light" is a myth, mate--we're just playing much more like we are capable of.

i agree he is rotating bob, read my post properly and you will see i say 'over rotating and breaking up the spine of the team'. he is still making changes but we are not seeing the likes of torres warming the bench, this is the point i am making

well I don't mind rafa rotating some weak areas of our squad depending on tactics...

but torres should definitely play most games if not all...

don't know if it's true but the commentators said that torres was a last minute inclusion in this game... he was gonna play kuyt/crouch combination... now that would have made things alot harder...

MOTM is Gerrard, was fantastic.

We were lucky in a few occasions(Anelka's miss) but we outplayed them in most of the game.

Great win, now lets keep this momentum going.

not me mate, if he goes back to the stupid levels of rotation we saw earlier then we will start to see the same results as earlier, can any of you honestly say it was a good idea rotating torres

the argument was never rotation, the argument was over rotation and rotation just for the sake of it
