how a handful of you guys are shooting your heads off about Zenden is really beyond me. A couple of seasons ago, it was traore (which was highly justified 99% of the time), now its Zenden. It seems that people need to point fingers and find a scape goat everytime results dont go our way.

Certainly, half the team did worse than Zenden tonight.

I agree mate. Perhaps another option might have been better, but he wasn't in the 3 worst players list whatsoever, IMO.

Alonso had a shocker as did

Duk, watch the game again, and we'll discuss it. Thank you. I disagree.

Sabre Alonso was pi$$ poor tonight, Rafa should have hauled him off before 82 min.

I disagree with you their, he was worse than Zenden and on par with Arbeloa tonight.

THen Download the game where you know, watch it again, and we'll discuss.

I'll do the same thing. But he was one of the best IMO.

alonso and masherano did quite alright imo...only thing is none of them were tracking back to mark joe cole for the goal...

no... arbeloa should've had it covered, he had five yards on cole at the start... he slowed to a jog at the edge of the area, and when cole sprinted past him, he had no chance :no . looked out of his depth tonight, and imo he has been much better at lb

One time, I saw a man looking at me, yes, with his eyes. And then, he, he picked up a tube. And he looked, in the tube, and he made the moon big, inside the tube. The moon big inside a tube! Waahaha... Aaah. Telescope.

How can that be ?

One of the best. He was one of the best at giving away possesion tonight and conceeding silly free-kicks that was about it.

:no

I cannot explain the obvious. Not now.

But since you ask it you'll have a full explanation tomorrow.
Minute by minute.

I thought most of the team played OK not great, next week they will play great and we will be playing Ac Milan in the final.
Zenden was :censored: but he did work damned hard, the same as Kuyt really who always gets praise. The difference between Chelsea and Liverpool is that they decent strikers and we only have Crouch and occasionally Kuyt. In the summer we need to buy two new top class strikers if we are to challenge for the league.
In any case we'll win next week I'm sure of it, I just know we'll make the final.

Incidentally note to Rafa, please stop playing Stevie on the right, he drifts in to much and it leaves us very narrow and easy to defend against.

Its funny how Drogba can out muscle Agger for the best part of the game, when theirs a sniff at goal or a quick break. But then the cheating kunt cant even stay on his feet when a defender jockys him.

I find it amusing now how so many use the "so you know more than Benitez" arguement whenever I say anything, now after tonights match you're all experts and know what Benitez should be doing.

The fact is, we don't have the players and are not good enough, just as I've said all season. I stand by that and it showed again tonight.

Why you lot are all so suprised is beyond me... I've seen this coming since the draw was made.

I disagree Sabre Alonso was poor so was Mascherno, the two of them had a bad game tonight Alonso being worst, otherwise he would not have been hauled off.
Maybe if Rafa didnt still feckin tinker with the squad in the only trophey we are still in maybe we woul;d have won.
Alonso's lack of pace caught us out tonight BUT Alonso plays better with Momo, they have established a relationship in midfield and Rafa has broken it up to be smart.
I suppose he will learn and when he does we will have the best manager ever on our hands.
But he hasnt learned yet, and this tinkering needs to be nipped in the bud.
Its not good for the team, its not good for us, less tinkering and more normality is needed from him.[/quote]
Agreed the tinkering has got to stop.  It's not helping.

Fair enough Ciggy. If we all agreed a discussion forum would be boring.

Rafa knows what he's doing. Tinkering with the squad is the only way a man can find out what the true formulae is to a great squad.

A bad performance it was tonight, all the players individually were cringe-worthy apart from 2, non looked completely comfortable. But it could have been so much worse.

And Rafa knew in the 60 minuite to make a change and put Crouch on, however i just wishe he put Pennent on at the same time too

Alonso had a bad night not not as bad as the rest of our team.

Zenden was bad. should have put a good pass in but run the ball out, lost the ball 4 times from throw-ins.
masherano had a very bad spot.
Arbeloa and Agger did not look with it and i think the night got to them.

Rise had a good game but was loose on the passing.

SG..........HAD A GOOD SHOT BUT STUCK OUT THERE THATS ALL HE COULD DO.

Also our midfield compared to that of Chelsea's United or even Arsenals are to negative for the want of a better word. I think Frank Lampard has scored more goals than ALL of our midfield players put together.

We missed Finnan.
We had to move the players around abit because of that but why Zenden started and lasted the whole game was beyond me.
Was a poor performance in a poor game.
Just going to have to have another memorbale night at Anfield now.

Alonso and Maschereno both played quite well for me.

If there was a problem it is that they are both similar types of player (ie great passers who control the rhythm of the game) when maybe the game needed something a bit different at times.

Bring on the 2nd leg!

I suppose you knew we were going to lose to Barca aswell? It's one-nil at half time, there were mistakes but it aint over. We don't all give up so easily.
