LIVERPOOL vs CHELSEA - CL SEMI-FINAL 2ND LEG, BABY!!!!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby 7_Kewell » Sun Apr 22, 2007 2:18 pm

i'm already getting nervous...but our team is better this time round and also is in better shape.  Champions league qualifcation is already wrapped up and resting our key players before the Chelsea match will make us ready to get stuck into them.

Chelsea on the other hand have to play their key players and with a bit of luck pick up an injury or 2  :D

I can't wait. These are the fixtures that players at a big club should thrive on, and to be honest I look at our regular first 11 players, and I can only pick out Gonzalez and Sissoko that aren't in good form.

If we don't think we can win on Wednesday, we don't deserve to.

And I think we'll win. :D

Incidentally, at the time of typing, Chelsea's Prem dreams are being  gradually dismantled by the barcodes. Note how all of their players likely to play on Wed are all figuring and looking desperate - compare that with the casual run out our lads got yesterday. And Ballack looks like he may be a doubt after going off early on today. The absence of both him and Essien would be a huge blow for them.

I don't want either of them to win, but what can you do?

To be honest if Man U win the title, I could live with it because they've played some wonderful stuff this season. It'd hurt, but you couldn't argue with it.

Ballack went off injured after only 18 minutes according to the BBC vidiprinter but I'm not watching it so I have no idea what kind of an injury it is. Anyone know how serious this is?
hopefully he'll be out for both legs vs the Pool :)

Watched both United v Boro and Newcastle v Chelski this weekend....
The old cliche "funny old game" really does apply. We beat Boro quite comfortably last week and United struggled by their own standards.....
Chelsea made heavy weather of it v the Geordies, they had the lions share of possession but never really looked like scoring. You would hope that they are in the same sort of mood on Wednesday but sods law says they won't be.....
If our Defence works out how to counteract Joe Cole (a previous nemesis!!) early on, I firmly believe we can come away from the bridge with something....

Roll on Athens!!!

See Moaninho is upset at the "new rules" You can't give a penalty against the mancs or give one to Chelsea :D

I need some Liverpool fans to sign up to a new football forum i am in. It's really good and is growing steadilly, however the amount of Liverpool fans is really low ATM and i am sort of 'overan' with Manc fans and could do with some back up. Try it out, i'm sure with one or two of you lot signed up, we could give as good as we get

So the result in Valencia was average yeah ?
Ok, they score alot of goals late in games. Wasn't Man U famous for that not so long ago, and us before that ?
Make no mistake about it, this semi-final is going to be just as hard as the last one was, if not harder, and anyone who thinks we will stroll it are in for a very big wake up call come Wednesday.
Don't get me wrong, i believe we have the players, mentality and a manager capable of pulling off another great victory, but it's going to be one hell of a battle, mark my words
