fair dos.

but i reckon by the time we pop our clogs you'll not be wanting to compare trophies, no?

you won the tie tonight, but you gotta admit you're still lacking in a few positions to be genuine title contenders?

striker, for example?

if satday didnt prove that, then...

ah so now its only decent to knock out the european champions and supposedly the best team in the world.

but if we are so bad as all you mancs claim then surely it would be more than just 'decent', unless you are saying we are much better than you give us credit for

Uh guys, I know we went through, but somehow I cannot find it overly exciting when we lost at Anfield, even though it is against a good side like Barca. That's 2 games in a row now we've lost in Anfield. And I hope this is not the start of another striker drought again. We did enough to bury them in the first half, but at the highest level, we simply cannot be so wasteful.

Though I am happy that we managed to dominate against both the Scum and Barca. Let's hope we maintain this trend and start to get the luck we so badly deserve for the past 15 years....

Why is this site becoming more focussed on people who know each other through chat rather than people who have good insights as to whats going on? I and other people on this site say whats happening but unless certain members say the same thing its totally dismissed !
Im guessing this website is becoming more membership based on the total posts submitted rather than supporters with less posts. In the words of Al Murray

What makes you think that?

We are now able to compete financially for the first time in nearly 20 years.

We also have a much better squad than yours, not to mention younger.

If you look at your current team, all but 2 or 3 of the big hitters are over 30:

Van Der Sar (36),
Manc b*stard Neville (32),
Giggs (33),
Larsson (35),
Scholes (32),
Solkjaer (34).

Ferdinand is 29 this year and vastly overrated imho, Carrick is never going to be Roy Keane,  Alan Smith is a fringe player who brings nothing to the team, Vidic and Evra were ragged all over the shop by Bellamy, Park is a laughable marketing gimmick, Saha will never be a first-choice striker at a top club, and your best defender is all set to leave. (Mr Bean.)

It is going to take MASSIVE rebuilding and MASSIVE amounts of money to keep your club in the top 4 within the next couple of years, let alone WIN things.

Now, let's look at LFC:

Our big hitters this season:

Reina (24),
Gerrard (26),
Alonso (25),
Sissoko (22),
Carragher (29),
Agger (22),
Steve Finnan (30),
Luis Garcia (28),
Bellamy (27),
Kuyt (26),
Crouch (26).

Add to them Mascherano (22), John Arne Riise (26 -who normally is a big hitter for us, but he's been sh*te this year), and the players yet to settle completely (Aurelio (27), Pennant (24), Gonzalez (22), etc), and we have a very young squad with only really 3 positions in need of filling to have a title-winning team.

I would say that if we get a top-drawer striker next season, we will be there or there abouts.

Get a top drawer leftback aswell, and you and the cheating chav scum can kiss goodbye to the Premiership for the next few years IMHO.

We are THAT close. We are dominating the best sides in the World.

We just ain't taking our chances.

Adding to that is the fact that Man.Ure did not have any significant signings when the season started, so they could afford to basically pick up where they left off. Whereas Liverpool had a period of settling-in for the new signings. And everyone kept waiting for the shoe to drop but you Mancs got it lucky when you had no significant injuries. If you had similar injuries like what Chelsea had, you would probably be in the lower half of the table now. That is how poor your 2nd stringers are... FACT!

Not to mention the departure of Fergie which will come sooner than MU fans may think.

Do they really think Carlos Queiroz will lead them to Premiership glory?

It took me some time to browse all comments about the game here. It seems that all what I'd like to say has already been talked about. Though LFC did not win, they played a beautiful game. The scorring problem is in bad need to be solved. I don't think that I can always bear the scene that we can not have a single goal even when we have 12 shoots  vs. 0 by our opponent, like which happened during the first time of last night's game. That just drives me crazy. Anyway, the good thing is we got through into the final 8, which gives chances to our team to improve.

Though I'm definitely not against some small talk here in this site, I agreed with you that it should be more focused. I'd like to read more intelligent and insightful comments about LFC here and I do think there are so many such "people who have good insights" in this site delivering that. That's exactly why I come here to support LFC. We just need go a little further.
