the guy is crying off to the press he's not playing though...why would we want to bring him here to sit on our bench?

bad idea to be honest...hopfully doesn't happen.

I got no problem with him complaining about not playing.  he just like Tevez have been treated like dirt and it is totally unfair,  I do not think he would expect to walk into the Liverpool team, I think he would welcome the opportunity of actually getting the chance to prove himself and fight for his place.

he is not getting that chance at west ham.

As for Lucas Neil.  No thanks!!!

there's a lot going on behind the scenes at West Ham and the bizaar and unexplained transfer of Tevez and Mascherano were just part of it.

If he cannot get into the first 11, it must be for good reason.  Pardew dropped him and Curbishly isn't interested either...thats VERY strange that 2 managers don't rate him and the fact he prefers to cry to the press instead of trying to help West ham rings alarm bells.

Ok, Lucas isn't everyones prefered choice...but for a cover player, he's good and (because his contract is running out) is also cheap....from what i can tell mascherano is neither.

maybe its off the field... maybe he's not playing because of his attitude or his training. every report about him as a person suggests he's arrogant and a bit of a c0ck, in his last game for corinthians he got sent off  ... then he just didnt turn up for training and went AWOL.

i can't see Rafa spending 5-6 million to an Irainian businessman for this players services...maybe a loan would be the best option if Rafa really is interested.  To be honest, i've not seen any quotes or REAL stories from Anfield which really suggest we even want this guy.

If Mascherano is the mutts nuts , will somebody please please please TELL ME why have a desperate West Ham only given him six minutes of football   ???   ???   ???

Whatever you think of them Pardew and Curbishley are not mugs , why haven't Mascherano and his sidekick Tevez been used more.

Last thing we need is a mercenary under achieving prima donna (if that's what it comes down to )

politics...cant be anything else. The pair of 'em are internationals at the end of the day...they're not the 'be all and end all'.. But they certainly hav'nt turned into bad players overnight.  For me, these representatives are angling for their piece of the pie....god knows how many unrealistic demands could have been stipulated. What ship wouldnt be unsteadied?

If you we're playing regularly and then sold to a worse team and only got 6 mins football in 4 months, wouldn't you be crying to the press?

I am all for new faces but I would prefer recruiting players better than what we have on the books already.

If the Argentine was all that he would be a key in getting the Hammers out of a deep hole but neither Pardew or Curbishley have selected the lad to play. Plus he will ultimately have 3 centre midfielders better than him at Anfield, Zenden not included!.

Neill is a loose cannon but a decent defender. However he is no better than than any of our best back 4. Be prepared for a run of pens against if he takes to the field!

I guess they are low risk signings on a loan and a free and if we move a couple out it balances the books.

As ever I really do hope they work out if they arrive but I have my reservations.

im really not too sure about Mascherano. like its already been said above 'he's only played several minutes at a club struggling at the bottom of the table' and he's not happy with it. when momos fit again i cant see mascherano getting a regular place in the 1st team, especially with the great central midfielders that we already have then he's gonna be in the same situation again.

Mascherano would be a great signing on loan, if that is indeed the deal. Otherwise, I don't see why we should throw a potential 5 million plus at signing him outright. His most logical role in the squad would be cover for Xabi.

I cant see anything wrong with a loan deal for Mascherano, give the lad a chance to prove him self around fellow internationals, im shaw he would love the opportunity.
I think it shoud be said Alan P and the rest of the Westham squad hardly wellcomed the arrival of the Argies and proberly didn`t go out of there way to hide the fact, and there fans were very quick to jump on the band wagon and point the finger when things started going wrong, i think they have faced some very unjust criticism from just about every angle while trying to adjust to a new country/league, language and a team that they proberly  realised didnt want them.
The only reason Tevez has had more time on the park is because he carries more of much needed goal threat, nothing to do with talent IMO.
Give him a chance i say ( feel sorry for the way they`ve been treated ) dont see what we have to lose with a loan.

As far as Neill go`s decent enough player, but over agressive at times and give`s away a few to many pens. But no real objections.
Dont judge a book by the cover, unless you cover just another, because blind exceptance is a sign,

The way Mascherano and Tevez have been treated at West Ham is disgusting imo. Are you telling me that Bobby F#cking Zamora is better than Tevez? Everytime Tevez comes on the pitch he brings another dimension to their play but he hardly get's a look in.

Mascherano on the other hand is being treated even worse. He has  the ability but he isn't being given a chance. The reason is because West Ham can't wait for him to settle. They don't have the time for that, they need instant success in order to avoid relegation.

They aren't willing to build the squad around him because they all know that he will be off. They knew that from the beginning, which is why everyone was shocked why the signed them in the first place.

I'd rather have Mascherano than Bolo f#cking Zenden.

Btw, according to the Echo [dont know whether or not this has been mentioned], Mascherano has only played for one team this year.

The Brazilian league ended in December of 2005 and he didn't play for them in 2006.

So he's only technically played for one club [West Ham] this past calendar year. But it's down to FIFA.
