id go with him

I havent seen him take many. Last one i think he took was in the carling cup final a few years ago wasnt it?

Actually ,the last one he took was in the world cup,he missed!  :suspect:
Before tht i think he scored in the f.a cup final,he is a good penalty taker take my word for it

Gerrard is NOT a penalty taker full stop. He was quoted two seasons ago after missing a penalty against Spurs at Anfield "that's me finished taking penalties".

Therefore WHY is he still taking them?  ???

ill have Dirk Kuyt as my first choice. But its interesting to mention both Agger and Carragher stepping up to the spot. In terms of 'blastability' (?) id say Riise and Aurelio would have a fair success rate given the chances. Infact, you'd find a case to argue for the Defence (scuse the pun) as a whole over Gerrard anyday of the week - the lad is far too hit and miss. Then again, its all percentages at the end of the day, and on another 'purple day'  Stevie might well knock 'em all home..Certainly someone else should be designated the role for me, as the chances come few and far between as it is in the league to score any kind of goals. (he says after 8 premiership strikes in a week)  :D

look i am not advocating Pepe at all, Kuyt would be the man for me or Bellamy. But didn't Rafa say after Alonso's second wonder goal, that he was the second best ball striker in the club after Pepe?

Refresh my mind again, who was the last designated peno taker we had? Was it Danny Murphy?

I dunno i would like to see other players like Luis, Finnan have a go at taking penos, and not the usual suspects we might discover something. But then again i might be talking shyte..  :D

Must be some kind of a joke... Don't get me wrong, I'm not dissing you, babu, but if this were reported anywhere in any media, it must be some kind of a prank.

The Star's (one English paper people like babu and I get from our parts of the world) Friday football pullout would have articles reproduced from sports writers in England, mostly from the Independent Online or Guardian Unlimited, unless the one article by this Nantha Kumar (or so his name is), perhaps this Nantha Kumar's the gullible one who must have gotten his facts from less reliable sources...

If Pepe had such a good and accurate shot, he'd be the first or second free kick and penalty taker like Chilavert.
