If professional footballers paid 10's of thousands a week can't kick a ball with some degree of accuracy from 12yards then no amount of penalties in training will help. You can bet they all already know which side is their best to take a penalty.. hell I bet we all know our best side to take a penalty into and we're not doing it everyday of our lives since we were 15!

I reckon it's right because we need to work on our weakness's,like in set-pieces or attacking we need to work on them. But it is kind of stupid,If i was Rafa i would take like the last10 mins to practise pens if you was in a final.

Practise makes perfect.

Practising has a psychological effect.

I've never suffered with nerves... APART from my driving test two years ago. I was a wreck, i passed, but nearly failed, if i done one now i know i'd pass easily. Theres alot of pressure in that.

You can't recreate the pressure, but you can instill more confidence in takers by helping them know exactly what they are going to do.

As for Hamann taking penalties, you lot have short memories and have proven it again. The man bottled it in the worthington cup final against Birmingham.

If Liverpool lose a Penalty shoot-out, Rafa will regret making this statement.

We need to plan on how we are going to defeat the opposition in 90 minutes of football not practice how to shoot penalties after 120 minutes when all of our players we'll be tired as f#ck.

The boys have 10 days practice between the Villa game and the final. Whether Rafa asks them to or not. I'd bet the house on them practicing pens at some stage.

Yeah i think they will practise them at some point but i reckon the game will be done un dusted in the 90 mins. 1-0 to the REDS:

I wouldn't be surprised if this was all a ploy.
Mourinho was customizing his flashy blue racing car -- applying the finishing touches of go-faster stripes, aerodynamic spoilers and a fat f@ck you exhaust -- while on his red car, Benitez was trying to glue together a broken chassis, repair bodywork and replace burst tyres.

I agree with that. I think Steven and Milan are capable of losing their heads in spot kicks.
