Not sure i buy into the 'Gerrard isn't really injured' conspiracy! Chances are his hamstring tightened after the game or the morning after. We normally get on ok in Europe without the Captain (it's in the EPL we miss him most.) Am also gutted Didi isn't available for this one but i'm confident Zenden can do a job in Europe where he will get a little more time on the ball.

I'm expecting us to come away with a narrow win but this will be like a cup final for Bordeaux so it won't be the walkover a few are predicting.

Just a thought, like, but couldn't Gerrard's Hamstring have gone after the 3rd sub had been made?

??? :D

Yup, they'll be back.....against the scum at old trafford. I would rather see them play against the scum than taking unnecessary risk by playing them against bordeaux.  Dunno about agger, but stevie and kuyt will be playing this sunday,i guess.   ???

I don't but into it at all. It just shows how many people haven't played football competitively. Picking up knocks and tweaks happens regularly sometimes even directly after a game if you haven't sufficiently warmed down. So to say Gerrard is being left out of the game on purpose under the guise of an injury is pathetic. And in any case Rafa has dropped Gerrard before and not had to use the excuse of injury, if he has felt Gerrard needs a rest then he just rests him. Any talk of conspiracy must be someone's dry sense of humour.

Bordeaux is the weakest team in the group. I've watched them live against 6S in Istanbul. They played so cowardly and all of their thoughts were a clean sheet.

But at all, they have a solid defence. I think the score will 0-0 or 0-1 tonight.

(BTW, for people who will bet on the game: Under 2.5)

Right, time to stop p!ssing about now, our chances of winning the league are slim to none now, I don't want to see the CL going the same way.

If we somehow manage to lose this game we could have serious problems in our group. Galatasary & PSV are both capable of nicking points off us. I think the last games in the group are us v PSV & Galatasary v Bordeaux, I could be wrong, but if that's right we could easily see ourselves relying on Bordeaux to get something against Galatasary if we don't win this game.

With this in mind I would field our strongest 11. What is it? I don't know, but it has to include Riise, Carra, Sissoko & Alonso. I don't want to see any of these players rotated as we have in previous matches. With recent results this has become a must win game, and we have to treat it as such.

Actually, the last games are us traveling to Turkey and Bordeaux playing in Eindhoven.  Nonetheless, you're right that this is a big game.  If we beat them here and in the return leg at Anfield in a fortnight, we're probably through (depending on how the PSV v Gala matches turn out).

Don't underestiate them, is all I can say.

Go there expecting a hard-fought win, and that is probably what we'll get.

TBH, a draw would be a good result.

Gerrard isint injured and you fool to even belive that he is.  Gerrard is basically rested for the trip to old trafford and rightly so.  Im sick off people calling us a one man team, now the lads can go and prove that where not.  The reason why they say hes injured is quite simply so the media dont get on Gerrards been dropped and all that other nonsense.

Cant wait for the game now, i tell you not its been hard trying to get some kip today.

I can see Garcia getting a goal tonight, its going to be close though casue these arent no mugs and just the thought off playing Liverpool the grreatest team in the world is goign to spurn them on even more.

2-1 garcia first goal.

You actually believe that Rafa gives a f'ck what the papers say ?
If Gerrard was rested our manager is that stubborn he would just tell the truth imo, he's done it plenty of times before and doesnt seem to care if the press give him stick.
I genuinely believe he has a slight injury.
Although i'll go along with you on the scorer, i'm putting a few quid on Luis as well.
