exactly... and if he did pick the injury up 'during' the draw on saturday - then wtf was he allowed to carry on playing for? knowing, in a week of fixtures vital to much more than points, but rather of 'confidence', he could very well of have exacerbated any minor strain into at least a 6-8 week absence because of a significant one.... that doesnt add up.
im inclined to go along with Espionage with his theory of, er, subterfugethat sounds like a line you'd expect to hear in the new Bond film.....

Good point about him carrying on injured. If he did pick up the injury during the match, I hope he didn't decide to carry on anyway and not let the bench know! Wouldn't put it past Gerrard, TBH--he sometimes tries to hard to be "brave" rather than smart.
Given that possibility, I hope this is a case of subterfuge (stick that one in the Word thread!) or we may be without his services--or his full talent--on Sunday (shudder the thought).

Garcia is a player made for European ties like this....he always does well in these games!
