After coming from another thread and reading peoples differences about the Sheffield U game. I thought this might warrant its own thread. There seems to be three types of catergories as to which a football fan may fall into.
1) The 'Happy clappy' brigade
2) The 'razor blade' brigade
3) The no-mans landers
Coming from that thread I may appear as a ' happy clapper ' which apparently is someone who basicly will see good in even our worst performance and make up as many excuses as possible to defend a sh.ite performance.
I'm not though, personally I'd say I'm a ' no man lander, caught in between of the two above. I'll sway with opinions from week to week depending on emotions and how I feel.
But one thing is for sure I'm not part of the ' razor blade brigade' There opinions are more vocal after a poor performance or a defeat. We could go on a ten game unbeaten run, then lose the eleventh. And they'd be there waiting to snipe at the defeat. But we wouldnt of even heard a murmur from them during the ten game unbeaten run.
Thats okay though, sometimes its easier to analyse a defeat or poor performance. But when its blown out of proportion to the extent that the worlds about to end is ridiculous, know doubt some might say the opposite about the ' happy clappy' brigade.
This isnt aimed at anyone personally, but to the ' razor blade brigade' I will say dont expect miracles from Rafa and his new look Liverpool squad. We've almost come to expect them with the CL win and the F.A cup. We are a great cup team at the moment, but thats different to a marathon league campaign. With all our new signings its going to take more time now for them to bed in, and with rotations and all, its not all going to be an easy run to the finish this year. And to get over the line in first position without sounding to "razor blade brigadish" is going to be almost impossible this year IMHO.
Maybe I'm trying to put a more realistic spin on things by saying dont expect to much, but at the same time try and leave the razor blade at home.
Peace
