Nah mate, some of us aren't still at school and our jobs dictate that we don't get drunk every day.

The only person on this site I 'tear into' is you because you deserve it.  I don't dislike you as a person as I've never met you, but I find your views on football and especially Liverpool very irritating.

Why don't you ignore them then?

Did someone say something?

I'm also of the opinion that Benitez completely fu.cked up last night.  Great manager?  Yes.  But he's not beyond criticism.  Last friendly of the season - fu.ck the fringe players and youth boys, they've had their shot, this should have been about playing our usual back 4 and keeper for the majority of the game to let them gel, not playing useless feckers like Diao and Traore.

Rafa needs to fu.cking sort it for the Maccabi Haifa game.  In my opinion the last 2 pre-season games have been wasted by him and we need to step things up now.  I'm confident we will as I think a 5-0 reverse will have given Benitez and the players the kick up the hole they needed.

How about you tell that to the German fans who got thumped 5-1 against England and didn't give a :censored:. Why? Because they knew that they would qualify for the world cup and they knew they can deliver when it matters. It's a pointless friendly, yeah losing 5-0 is bad, I'm not saying it isn't, would you rather we lost 5-0 in a friendly or 5-0 to Chelsea in the league? When I played football at a younger age none of us cared about losing, pointless friendlies, why? Because we saw them as a training match. We got beaten 4-0 in a friendly to a team that finished just outside the relegation zone in our league the season before. Sure it was embarrassing but it was just a friendly, we then faced them in the league twice and we won 8-1 and 3-0. League results and competitive results count, friendlies and testimonials don't. That's my view on it, if you don't like it, f.uck off.  :D

Oasis i cant believe the rubbish you post, do you really play football ?
I dont believe what you were just saying about the your friendlies, i believe you wouldnt care about losing, but think you are just making things up to support your argument.

The fact is that a friendly is a competitive match, clubs play them for more reasons than to gain fitness, they are also played to try out new systems, to help with team bonding and to try and get the players used to playing together and back into the winning habit.
Losing 5-0 does matter, the players we have i bet hate losing in 5 a side in training.
Taking any kind of defeat without being bothered is not a good trait to have, and i hope none of our players are thinking oh f'ck it, it was only a friendly.
I am not smashing things up or angry and shouting at my family, i am just p!ssed off with the result last night....and the way the pre-season experiment has gone.

I don't play football anymore no, I used to though, yes. If you think I'm making up then than you carry on thinking that. If friendlies matter to you then fair enough, that's your view, mine however is different. Friendlies are nothing more than a kick around to try out new tactics, gel new players and gain fitness for the competitive games of the season. You think one thing, I think another, let's just leave it at that.

Remember the last year.
Although we won all  our preseason friendly matches,we manages only one win in our first six.
Most important is winning this season games, not preseason.

Belive Rafa and our team.

AND please do not quarrel.
We all love liverpool.:)

"In the first half I thought we were the stronger side but after the break we made too many mistakes. In fact we have made mistakes in all three of our European friendlies and that's not normal for us. It's not normal to see Liverpool conceding so many goals and that's why I'm not too worried. We know we need to correct things. We need to analyse why things have been going wrong and work hard to fix them.

"When we get home we can start a new week with a new mentality and a new idea and I'm sure we'll be much better on Wednesday when the official games begin."

I'm sorry but reading some of these arguements is really depressing. finger pointing never solved anything.

All i will say is that Rafa hit the nail on the head with what he said!! ^

TBH mate do you actually think Rafa meant what he said ?

That was said to the press, what is said to the players will be somthing totally different he is not the type of manager that trashes the players in public.

Rafa will be seething without a shadow of a doubt.

That pretty much sums up the way I'm feeling at the moment too mate.

It's not just last night, it's the whole pre-season that hasn't really pleased me.  The positives are that we've seen a lot of the youth players get a chance, Fowler has looked sharp in the few outings he's had and new signings like Paletta, Bellamy and Pennant have shown flashes of what they're capable of.  But for me there have been a lot more negatives.  The sight of Diao and Traore still in Liverpool shirts just upsets me, whatever Rafa's reasons for playing them.  Kewell has missed the whole pre-season which means we'll probably not see him properly fit this side of Christmas.  Gonzalez has looked really poor and although I don't doubt he's a good player, I think it'll take him half a season to settle.  Our 1st choice back 4 has not played even one game, or even a half of a game together.  The returning World Cup players have not had much of a runout, and while I understand there's nothing that could have been done about that, it does worry me for the early games of the season.  The results might not count for points, but winning breeds confidence and our players are clearly not playing with confidence right now, and we know we have to start well this season to have any chance of overhauling Chelsea, so that also worries me.  But most frustrating for me is that Benitez (who imo is one of the best managers around right now), has made some poor decisions with regards team selections, substitutions and overall team preparation this pre-season.

On the bright side, look at Celtic for example.  Their pre-season consisted of them getting stuffed by a couple of Polish teams and then touring America without winning, yet they still won their opening league game 4-1 last week.  On a side note i think their only pre-season win was against Everton
