Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

The defending in general was poor by both sides.
Garcia and Potter did not get back and support the full backs and Riise got caught out of position too many times. He will need to be more disciplined.
I thought Warnock was brilliant, and he gets better every time i watch him.
I would start the season with him at LB and Riise LM.
Was pleased with what i saw from Baros.
Admittedly i have slagged him alot, but he layed on Morientes goal well and also put him in with a decent pass again when Mori tried to round the keeper.
If he continues to work that hard, and he realises that he is not first choice every week, i would keep him.
He could cause problems against the best defences if he came off the bench.

One other thing, Carson (not ready)
the cross he came for and missed was a shocker, he wasnt even facing the ball at one point.
Lets hope Reina stays fit, or that it was a momentary lack of concentration on his part.
For this time he can have the benefit of the doubt, but i HATE to see keepers come out flapping about !

Baros looked sharp, and combined well with Morientes - definitely a plus point of the game.

But as for Josemi - he looks worse everytime I see him play. His positional sense is :censored:. Finnan easily our best right back. Opta stats for Liverpool wins when Josemi started were awful last season.

Sissoko had a good game - I can see why Benitez likens him to Vieira - he definitely likes to get stuck it. We need that aggresive side to the midfield for those Blackburn and Everton type games

I think Josemi will be sold or put in the reserves, and I think Barragan will play ahead of him.

Barraghan is only 18, your wait will take at least 4 years -> :grinning:

Yeah, Barragan (and Gonzalez) haven't even been allocated a shirt number yet. Looks like we'll have to endure Josemi for a little longer

And so what if he's 18? Senderos is under 20 years of age and he's played dozens of games at Arsenal and kept Campbell on the bench.

He's probably better than Josemi.

And you do? We will never know if we don't give him the opportunity to play in the senior squad.

Barragan has years to improve where as it's a bit too late for Josemi.
