They are going to have soem team this season by the looks of things, and with Capello at the helm they have the right man to get a galaxy of stars working well as a TEAM. If the Real Madrid directors let Capello do his job they may well win the League and/or European Cup this season.

yeah, ballague was on the radio last night saying that barcelona were getting complacent with their lack of summer activity. so far the've only brought gudjohnsen and they're willing to let the likes of larsson and motta leave aswell.

real madrid will sign cannavaro, zambrotta and emerson on a lease for 12 months and the players will then return to juventus, assuming they get promoted back to Serie A next season. they also want fabregas, robben and kaka, although arsenal have already come out and said that fabregas is not for sale.

Wonder what the bitters would make of it if we won number six next year?

They have always had a great team but they just cant play these days. There a fading force and it will take something special to bring them back up.

The problem is that they dont play as team but rather like team full of individual superstars.

Over the years sme players have produced some great pieces of individual skill to win the big games but they cant go on forever. Im sure Cappello will do well there although I think Barca will now dominate for the next 2 years.

Personally even if clubs are relegated I cant see their being some mass exodus of players leaving clubs.  If the relegated clubs do decide to sell I still think they will ask for the going rate and honesty dont think players are going to be avaliable on the cheap.

The majority of the players becoming available are in our high strength areas such as central defence and central midfield, not many right midfielders aside for camoranesi.
Ideally we should gor for ibrahimovich but i think he would be too expensive.

In the case of Juve I think 1 or 2 of Capellos favourates may join him in Madrid but apart form that if they get relegated to Serie B then it is likely majority of the best players will go on loan. However if they get relegated to Serie C then you could see what everyone is calling a mass exodus of players.

I don't think there will be such a 'mass exodus' of players even if the clubs definitely get put down a division or 2.  Some will inevitably leave, but at least half of the squads of players will be kept on I think.  It is more likely that players who haven't been at the clubs for so long will leave, rather than 30+ age category players who have been there and done it for the clubs and have nothing left to prove in the game and might show a bit of loyalty.  Likewise players who are pretty young and have come through the youth systems at those clubs.  But players who are in and around their peak and still have ambitions of winning trophies in the short term will want out - players like Vieira, possibly Emerson, Ibrahimovic, Trezeguet, Nesta etc.

I also agree with LFC#1 on Madrid next season, whether or not Capello gets some of his ex-Juve players to go there, they will be a force next season.  He turned them around very quickly the last time he went there and with the funds he is getting to spend along with the pulling power Madrid still have in terms of attracting players, they will improve a lot.  Barcelona have been very quiet on the transfer front also, I won't be surprised if Madrid push them all the way next season or even pip them to la liga.

reports are suggesting that juventus, lazio and fiorentina have been relegated to serie b.

the turin club have also been docked 20 points.

ac milan, remain in serie a. however they too will start with a points deficit, expected to be between 10-15 points.

an official announcement is expected early evening..

more on this in todays guardian.....

Old Lady to go down

Juventus likely to be out of the top-flight for at least two seasons

Juventus, Fiorentina and Lazio will all be demoted to Serie B for their roles in the match-fixing scandal that has tarnished Italian football, according to today's Gazzetta dello Sport.
The verdict of the long-running trial will not be officially revealed until 6pm this evening, but the newspaper claimed to already know the punishments that will be dished out.

"The verdict will be this: Juventus, Fiorentina and Lazio will be relegated to Serie B," claimed the Gazzetta confidently. "AC Milan will stay in Serie A but will not be allowed to take part in the Champions League."

Without disclosing its source, the newspaper went on to insist it even knew the point deductions that each club would receive. Juventus, it said, will begin their Serie B campaign on minus 20 points, while Fiorentina will be penalised 10 and Lazio six or seven. Milan, meanwhile, will be docked 10 to 15 points.

After the verdict is formally announced tonight, the teams will have three days to appeal to a federal court of arbitration; a final decision must be reached by July 24.

The confirmation that three of the clubs are to be relegated is likely to spark a feeding frenzy as Europe's biggest teams close in to snatch talents such as Fabio Cannavaro, Gianluca Zambrotta and Gianluigi Buffon from Juventus and last season's Serie A top-scorer, Luca Toni, from Fiorentina.

I think we should get Camoranesi from Juventus because he can play at right and central midfielder.  He will add more creativity on the right flank and his crosses are very good.

I head on bbc news today that Milan will be the only team to survive relegation but will be suspended from next years Champions League.

As for which teams to be promoted im assuming the ones which finished highest but obviously didnt get promoted last year.

exactly what I heard.

I wonder why Milan probably aren't going down as well? Maybe their crimes weren't as bad as Juve or others.

You mean that clown who was sniggering when he got sent off against Arzenal?

No thanks.

Nedved would be cheap

Anyway, the Premiership is too much like hard work for the Italians - they'd prefer Spain

Also heard that for next season they would start with a 15-20 points deduction which will make it hard for them to get into the top 3

Juve down and start -30 points in serie b
Fiorentina down and start -12 points in serie b
Lazio down and start -7 points down in serie b
AC Milan stay up but out of Champions League and start -15 points in seria A next season.

There is gonna be a sale from the three clubs who went down but I cannot see us getting involved....Would I take Nedved or Trezeguet from Juve? You bet I would but would they come? I doubt it....will be very interesting to watch it all unfold for a while though.
