With respect mate, whilst I accept your criticism of the french, the arrogance IMO bares a lot of similarity to us and 1966, the only difference being the french have not won the world cup for 8 years, whereas we have not won it for a mere 40 years!!

Poetry in motion from Motty on the BBC last night:

"He never stops moving does he, Zidane? He sort of flows... and swirls... like an eddy in a river with the ball at his feet."

very good tonight.  Ribery was great.  Would be great in a LFC shirt.  Shame Lyon have told Marsielle they would pay £18 mil for him.

France very good?  More like Spain choked.  Still, France were better than they have been recently and they were a lot better at winning and retaining possession in midfield.  But there is still very little creativity and a lack of penetration up front - I'm still scratching my head wondering how in fact they chalked up 3 goals tonight.  Best I've seen Zidane play in a while and Ribery was good, but Vieira and Henry are still playing sh.it and Malouda is a passenger.

Spain bottled it, they have a younger team yet seemed to fade before France.  Average age of their team is 24 and I think the lack of experience showed nearer the end.  France had the ability to grind it out as they'd been there before, but Spain started to panic when it became clear at 1-1 on 70 minutes that one mistake would lose the game.  Very talented side though Spain, perhaps at the next world cup when most of these players should be reaching their peak they'll go a lot closer.

Is it me or is Ribery the Frankenstein version of Gary Neville?  Nice skill but I just wanted to tw.at the little :censored: because he reminds me so much of Neville...especially when he took off down the touchline after scoring--I deja vued to Neville at Old Trafford sprinting the length of the pitch to taunt our fans in February!     :D

Ya I've been watching him all this year in France - he's consistently given defenses the runaround, and he has a good physical quality the lack of which seems to keep French players from doing well in the Prem (just look at that damn scar!).

It is an uncanny resemblance.

Mrs Neville couldn't handle having 3 other feckers for sons. She fired one off to France.
