It was much better, but Trinidad & Tabago vs Sweden was still an exciting match. It's just a shame there wasn't any goals, but on the second hand, I'm kinda glad it was a 0-0 draw. For England's sake.

Sid Lowe the journalist from the Guardian that wrote the Spanish Awards article, is commenting the games of England on the Spanish TV, and I think he's nice because he explains us what the fans are singing, some interesting insight on the team, and touches of good humour.

When he was asked by the main commentator, What's up with Theo Walcott everyvody he's raised many espectations, he answered "that's because nobody in England has watched him playing".

About Ferdinand he said, "I'm personally much more calm when our ball is in the middle, because Ferdinand sometimes is mentally absent, in the games, and even in his life".

About Cole, he said that it doesn't take much to watch him in the floor, and that he's that kind of ball hog that in the schoolyard never wanted to pass the ball to his mates.

When he watched Hargreaves, he said, "oh, that wasn't what I wanted to see".

He spoke well of Gerrard and Crouchy.

On a personal comment, and although Sid Lowe didn't comment anything on it, don't you think the best of Gerrard is with a midfielder behind him? he's very tied on defensive work IMO, he does well because he knows to play well every position, but I'd like him to have the same role he has in Liverpool.

Die Spanichen Updaten

Xabi Alonsen is likely to be in the starging eleven according what it can be seen in the training session. Looks like Luis Aragones has been trying to deceive the oposition with tests so far.

Alonso would play slightly different to his role in Liverpool, with a defensive midfielder behind him, allowing him to concentrate in the distribution and tempo of the game, alongside Barcelona's Xabi. Raul would be on the bench, Villa on the starting eleven, and the things would be more what I'd like them to be. Fortunately.

I'm gutted for the Serbians, they always play good football, they always are matched in the group of death. They're a team I wouldn't like to meet.

I hate Robben, but he had a good game despite his usual dosis of diving

Kuyt was non-existent!

I didnt see him really touch the ball until in the dying minutes of the match when he finally got the ball and..

..fell. :D

Robben had a great game but I still wouldnt give him the credit he deserves as a footballer because of obvious reasons.

Yeah Kuyt hardly saw the ball and when he did he had poor control and he missed that free kick across goal that was a tap in. Still as i say we didnt see him for long

I've seen bits and pieces of Kuyt over the last few months , both for his club and country (hadn't seen him before this season) . Must admit I'm still wondering what the fuss is all about . Apart from the fact that he looks a little bit like Fowler (and I don't mean his football ) I see nothing to recommend him .
