Watching the German game the ball seems very light and lively...expect to see some freakish goals this WC!

Like Frings' shot early in the match, the one that bounced on the roof of the net.

Explosive start to the WC, Germany look woeful at the back, they are getting tight when they don't need to, I don't understand that and they're also pushing up too much.

I've not seen a Germany side this bad since....I've never seen a German side this bad, but they're still winning which is all they'll be worried about, but I'll tell you something, they play like this against the top teams and they will get a hammering like they did at the hands of Italy.

They have a strong midfield and a strong strike force but there defence is a shambles.

Costa Rica still have a shout but they too look poor in defence, they leave bags of space for Germany to exploit. If they can close Germany's midfield down and work as a more collective unit they can indeed equalise.

If the rest of the matches are similar to this one we are in for a great, great World Cup.

That shot hit a leg but still took a hell of a dip.  The one I was thinking of was Lamm's goal, though.  The slow-mo replay showed the ball wobbling and dipping like a knuckleball in baseball.  The Costa Rican keeper almost got caught out on a fairly simple shot by Schweinstager as well.  It shall be interesting...just don't lose your head about Paul Robinson when it happens to England!  :D  :p

It did take a dip but the ball was floating and bobbling about in mid air which is strange, I'm starting to wonder if they've filled the balls up with helium.

Oh and Robinson says the balls aren't keeper friendly so if a freak shot goes one way and then the other I won't blame Robinson, however if he's off his line and gets lobbed I'll be  :veryangry
