Will cisse go to? - Cisse

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Its probably good that he has come out and made those comments, surely that will signal the end for him now.
I hadnt seen much of him before he signed, the odd goal for France and the only time i had watched him in a full game was against us in the Uefa cup for Auxerre, tbh he looked lively in them games, direct with a good strike and plenty of pace. He just seemed a bit raw, like a lot of younger players do really. But i expected him to push on once he had trained day in day out with better players and coaches, his touch and awareness should of improved.
They havent, he is still the same pacey striker that can score goals, but has no awareness a poor first touch and a prima donna attitude.
14 million has proved to be a joke, but we gambled, Henry when he left Monaco looked raw, he was direct and had pace, but he looked totally right footed and limited.
After a poor season in Italy Arsene Wenger gambled with 11 million for him. Since then he has improved every aspect of his game and is in the top 3 best players in the world. He might strut around the pitch and sometimes show a poor attitude, but he backs it up with his displays. Djibril hasnt and despite his compaints about his lack of oppurtunitys as a striker, the manager must do whats best for LFC not Djibril Cisse.
His performances towards the end of the season were slightly better (but still not good enough) and his end of season goals return will hopefully earn us a bit more money when he goes.
Lets just hope he scores 2-3 goals in the world cup because if he does someone will pay 10 million for him. He is still young an there will be another manager willing to gamble on him.
After hearing his comments i am sure we will be signing 2 strikers this summer now and that he was aware of this, so he makes the comments to try and sort out his own future as early as possible. The only dilemma rafa faces, is whether to try and offload him now, or the gamble of waiting to see how he performs in the world cup to increase his value, that would obviously leave him with little time to sign a replacement.

Think he has accepted his days are numbered under a ruthless Rafa. This will only help us sell him!

I just hope he doesn't sign for another premiership team.

I don't think Cisse has done anything wrong.  He saying what we al know is true..

Since last summer rafa has showed no confidence in him.  remember after the Super Cup Final when Cisse came on and changed the game.  Rafa was asked will Cisse be at liverpool?  rafa respondes with "Maybe we will get more bids for him"  live on TV!!

Also if you noticed this season when ever crouch or mori scored golas rafa would come out and praise them.  when did he ever do this regarding cisse??  i can't remember on time!

Cisse want to leave but it all depends on Lyon.  if they don't come up with the money then where is cisse gonna go?

Oh and 24 in 78 games!  how many of them games were starts?  how many of them games was he on the RW?

this season hasnt cisse got 19 in 24 starts!  tell me if crouch or mori done better..

crouch's stats are much much worse.. lol

I've got very little sympathy for Cisse, TBH.  He's been asked to do a job for the team by playing on the right or coming off the bench...he should have just got his head down and got on with it rather than getting stroppy about it.  In fact, it seemed like he'd come to terms with his role a bit more at the tail end of the season and finally decided to put in some decent shifts for the club.

Alas, his ego has resurfaced and he produces remarks like these--remarks that reinforce his selfishness.  The bottom line is that it is simply not on to whinge about how unfairly the manager is treating you.  A bigger man, when confronted with reporters asking about his status at Liverpool, would have simply pointed to the 19 goals scored in a season with fewer minutes than other forwards and many minutes "out of position".  Cisse could have said he has done what the manager has asked him to do and has made a vital contribution to the team, as the stats suggest.  Instead, he took the first opportunity to have a go at Rafa, likely to force Rafa's hand and precipitate a transfer.  Well good riddance, I say.  If you can't respect the manager then you've got no place in the team.  On your bike!  :veryangry

exactly. I mean everyone is criticisng Cisse, saying he is not good enough for Liverpool.

Crouch for sure is definitely not good enough for Liverpool F.C, never has been and never will be. This :censored: about him holding the ball up and winning headers is just a pile of :censored:
Fowler was good enough for LFC however he is too old now. I think Cisse was our best forward this year, keep him!

thats unfair on crouch. Whilst he may not be prolific up front, he works a lot harder for the team in 1 match than Cisse has done all season.  Cisse is a man who believes his own hype.  He seems to think that, just because he does Adidas adverts with some of the worlds best players, he is autmatically one also. Which isn't the case.  Yes Cisse gets goals, but he also misses a LOT of chances.

That so?  Well, we'll just have to see won't we?

If you're right, then selling Cisse will be a huge mistake for Rafa and that will show in our (poor) results next year.

If the rest of us are right--that Crouch brings SO MUCH MORE to the team than Cisse and that Robbie is a class finisher that has more skill at 31 than Cisse could dream of having--then we'll be just fine without Cisse.

Let's just see how things pan out for Liverpool next season without Cisse, shall we?

If Liverpool tanks you can come back on here and crow about it.  In fact, I think you'd quite enjoy that since your clearly a Cisse fan rather than a Liverpool fan--after all, you only come on here to defend Cisse and moan about Crouch.

I suspect, however, that we won't be hearing from you again.  Liverpool will do just fine without Djibs and you'll be off in pastures new, supporting Lyon, Marseille, Portsmouth, or wherever the feck this waster ends up.

WTF is this noise?

First of all, he ALLEGEDLY blocked his transfer.  Who says he did?  Cisse!  Which makes the source suspect.  We have no idea how behind-the-scenes negotiations did or did not play out in January and taking Cisse's press talk as gospel on this subject is ridiculous.

Second of all, and more importantly, Rafa had every right to block Cisse's transfer request in January.  Why?  Because Cisse's under contract and Rafa has an obligation to: 1) protect the team's on-field interests and 2) safeguard the club's financial interests.  Both were reasons to keep Cisse in January.  On the field Cisse was one of four strikers (even with Robbie coming in, because Pongo was loaned out) in a squad that had lots of games to play and was having trouble scoring.  In addition, he could play on the right if needed, a position that we did not have a lot of cover for.  There was no way Rafa was going to sell him in January given the demands of the coming months, given that we weren't able to get a RM in and given that Cisse still offered something useful to the team (he may be limited but he does have uses).  In terms of the club's financial interests, Cisse cost 14 million pounds!  There was no way that we would get anything near that for him in January, especially since he'd been on a fairly mediocre run of form.  Rafa and Perry know we're not likely to recoup all of his original transfer fee but they have an obligation to the club to get the best value they can from Cisse's transfer.  This is why holding onto him until the summer makes sense: there is more time to negotiate deals, clubs have a better and more long-term sense of what direction they are going in and who they'd like to buy to take them there (by contrast, the Jan. transfer window tends to be about short-term adjustments for the season's run-in) and, of course, there is a World Cup, which has the potential to drive Cisse's value up if he performs decently for France.

In short, selling Cisse in January made no tactical or business sense for Liverpool.  Once again I reiterate.  It's about the club not the player.  Cisse may have relished a move in January (much like Dudek) but it wasn't in the interests of the club so tough luck to him.

He'll get his wish now though--the club wants rid of him as much as he wants out...so it's happy trails pardner!

I dont think Rafa will sell Cisse until he knows he has another striker in the bag after all Morientes has gone aswell now. The writing is indeed on the wall now but Rafa has to think business like so if he gets a good offer now then perhaps he will sell but otherwise he may wait till after the world cup.

Very cheeky though from Cisse to say those things as soon as he leaves for international training.
