Will cisse go to? - Cisse

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

So Morientes has gone. It was fairly predictable after rafa had decided to keep Robbie. However, I feel that Cisse can only go if Rafa gets somebody just as good or better to take his place. There are lots of strikers worse than Cisse and some who are better. He has a lot going for him: speed, youth, ability to score goals. Maybe a Kuyt ann Owen or a Defoe would be better--but he should be in the bag before we sell Cisse. If such a striker doesn't become available, then Cisse should stay at Anfield for next season.

Nah Cisse no go. He'll stay.....next season will be his last season to finally prove his £14,000,000 worth. And he's done well this season considering he's started as a sub & played quite often on the right wing notching 19 goals this season.

This argument has been done to death and there is already a big Cisse thread that this could have gone it.

For what its worth it seems quiet clear what the situation is, we will sell Cisse if we get a sensible bid for him from a club that he is willing to go to and if we can line up a better replacement, if we cant do this then he will not go.

I think he probably will go because there are loads of better strikers out there and we should be able to squeeze a decent fee out of a club

What happens if a sensible bid comes in from a club he's willing to go to, but no adequate replacement has been lined up? I mean a sensible bid might come tomorrow and Cisse might be willing to go--but do we take the chance on maybe getting a better striker?

Cisse will have Score at least 4 goals for France in the World Cup if he wants to stay at Anfield next season.

If he has a brilliant world cup, which I doubt he will, I can see him going, I figure now that he has a 19 goal season under his belt, he may be able to finally step up the pace, no pun intended, and show us what we paid so much for, I don't care if his touch is awful or gaffs alot of shots, if he wins us games, then I am happy. Keep in mind that I think Micheal Owen averged only about 38 seconds on the ball per game in his last season, and he was still a force, if Cisse gets loads of the ball, mucks it up, but still bags us goals, it would be fantastic... then... then sell him.

I think the decision on Cisse will depend on which striker we can get. if its Kuyt,Villa or similar he will stay, if its Owen, Defoe or (god forbid) Bellamy I think he will go.

I'm not having a go at you, mate, as a lot of other people have made similar statements, but...

Is this not simply common sense?  If we ship out any player, no matter who it is, and bring in someone else to fill his shoes, then are we not expecting that the player coming in is better than the player leaving?  I mean, that just goes without saying doesn't it?  For example, we got rid of Josemi and brought in Kromkamp.  I simply take it as given that Rafa considers Kromkamp the better player (at least for our team).

Similarly, if we do ship out Cisse and bring someone else in up front, I expect it's because Rafa rates the new player more highly.  It's not as though we're going to sell Cisse and then start sniffing around Division 2 clubs for a striker, is it?  So, suggesting that Rafa needs to understand that Cisse has to be replaced with someone better is pretty daft, is it not?  I think he grasps that! ???

Rant over!
