Terrible news. I've never really had the chance to talk to Phil over PM or what not but I was aware that he was battling an illness. It's a shame that this sort of thing happens to good people.
My prayers and thoughts will be with Phil and his family.
Sad news, dont post here much now but you still get an affinity with some of the posters, and he was one of the gems of the forum. Seems like a real decent sort and wish him all the best
Like many on here i'm not a regular poster but i always look out for comments from drummerphil and i'm sure i still will in the future as i feel you are a fighter.
All the best mate, good luck.
I think the idea of a visit from a player is a great idea as phil has supported this club all his life.
I'm gutted for the lad!! Haven't been on for a while.. But phil's posts and replys always stood out, and he is a very funny lad as well..It puts everything into perspective.. Guys and girls you have done him proud with all the messages. Hope you beat this phil, chin up and don't ever give up just like the team you love... Respect drummerphil!!!!!!!!!
Thanks a million for all your kind gestures and support. Just to let you know that Phil is now in a single room with TV awaiting the game with great anticipation. Internet use is not allowed in our hospitals and they have very little high tech facilities - much to Phil's frustration. We are trying to get him home in the next week or two to spend a little time at home before his treatment starts and I know he is eager to communicate with you all. We may have to alter internet connections slightly once he is home and he has already suggested he needs a better laptop and wireless techno so this may be an idea for your kind suggestions of donations, although I know he would truly love to meet with Kenny Daglish, Robbie Fowler and I think Steven Gerrard. If I can help please let me know. I am now going to print off your messages and take them with me tonight but better get a move on so once again thank you and I will try to keep in touch.
Like other people, i am not a big poster but i look on the forum every so often and from what ave seen of your posts phil you seem to have a cracking sense of humour and you also know what your talking about on the football front aswell. Get well soon mate and keep on fighting!
I dont get on much and had no idea that he was ill. My thoughts are with the lad and his family and i hope that he can get through this and be back home soon. Walk on Phil.
I have a lot of time and respect for Phil, he’s a quality poster and was always in remarkable spirits regarding his illness. Like some others on here, (due to work) I haven’t been able to post a great deal on here, but I didn’t expect to hear this.
Keep strong Phil, our thoughts and best wishes are all with you.
