Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

To be honest, I can see Kewell being shifted to the right when Gonzalez comes and we won't look for a right midfielder after that, well for the time being anyway!

Kewell is not a right wing soloution at all, we have complained all season about having to fill in on the right and you want us to carry on without a natural winger, dont make sense really.

Pennant for 4 million, i d have him in a second, he either behaves himself or doesnt either way he will be class for us or we will get the money back from someone for him, With Gerrards arm round his sholder and Rafa to manage him he knows he would have a glorious 2nd chance which only a fool would pass up, Look at the Brum side he is playing in, he runs round like a loon having to try and do everything, at the reds he can get on with his job as a right winger.

This transfer makes so much sense, as does Bellemy, everyone hates him and Why? cos he is a fu*king pain to the opposition, i bet Blackburn fans fuc*in love the guy cos hes in everyones face,is fast, finishing is fantastic, strong and powerful, how many strikers do we have who physically scare their opponents?? Exactly, him alongside Crouch would be a massive threat, and i will be hoping Dirk Kuyt joins him here with Fowler.

Best thing i heard about Bellemy is this, and its the only thing that p!sses me off about him, He is like a fit bird who knows she is fit. He is a fuc*ing very good player but he knows it and as we know, no one likes a tw*t like that.

Whether you are happy with a talented tw*t is up to the manager really tho.

A strike force of Crouch, Bellemy (or Keane, who we should have signed, ive been saying this for like a year) Kuyt and Fowler will make me a very happy man in the summer.

Just my opinion, obviously everyones opinion differs but this is the kind of thing i hope we get out the summer. But in Rafa we trust and im certain he will do the right thing

To be fair to Pennant, regarding his past troubles - you would be a criminal if yo ulived in Birmingham.

The place is a sh*thole. :D

you only take a gamble on those who still have attitude.

if pennant sorts himself out, then theres no need to gamble is there, as we can see he plays good football.

you dont gamble on things that are ok - think about it !!

DOn't be so fkn pedantic.   :D

Players worth a look:

Pennant - we've been discussing him for ages.  Overrated by some on here, but for 4 million I'd definitely take him.  He's better than anything we currently have on the right and I think Benitez would get the best out of him.

Davis (Villa) - Bigmick mentioned him and I've spoken about him in the past.  He's going to be a very good player, best to come out of Northern Ireland in quite a while.  Getting regular games at International level can only be a good thing for his development.  Fergie is having him watched I hear.

Malbranque - Always liked this player, very creative and a good worker too.  Versatile and could play anywhere across midfield.

O'Neill and Gera look decent players and the boy Curtis Davies (or whatever his name is) at West Brom will eventually be signed up by a bigger club, but I don't think these 3 are quite good enough for us.

Of the others mentioned I've never rated Upson that highly and defence isn't a priority position for us at the moment.

I won't go on about Pennant coz it's been done to death on here. For me he's a good player who could be very good. He will probably get ONE more chance with a big club and it wouldn't surprise me if it was LFC. I'm not entirely convinced he would take that chance though.

I'm a big fan of Gary Oneil and have watched him ever since we were first linked with him last year. He is a very committed player but also an excellent touch and is a good passer. Portsmouth's best (excluding loan signings) by a country mile. Matt Taylor isn't a bad shout Leon. Not sure he has been quite the same player since coming back from a few injuries last season but he would be an upgrade on Djimi i'm sure. D'allessandro looks a special player and looks well suited to English football. I don't think Pompey can aford him so expexct a bigger club like Newcastle to come in for him.

Davis is a fantastic prospect (he's kicked :censored: in my dream team this year!) but he would be crazy to come to LFC who hardly need another centre-mid. Davis will be a manc this time next year. I haven't seen enough of Gera but he certainly knows how to score the spectacular goal.

I've championed Malbranque on here many times and he would still be my first choice. He has a lot of qualities - He's fairly quick, he's two-footed, has a few tricks, good passer, scores goals and can play right, centre, in the hole or out on the left if needed. Has been 'doing it' consistently for the past 4 years. Fulham's most important player (along with Boa Morte) and we could probably get him for around 6/7 mill.

That's a fair comment.

Just say though he would cost us 4m, compare it to Simao 12m, Joaquin 20+ and anyone else you could think of.

Would it not be worth the risk ?

On a similar note though could you imagine what the dressing room would be like if Bellamy and Pennant were brought  :oh:

if we already had a quality RM i would say yes he is worth the risk but at the moment we dont, so if he didnt work out we'd be left a little thin in that area

:bump

Figured I'd bump this topic back up now that the relegation situation is sorted and the speculation is ramping back up in other threads.

Upson (who was supposedly linked to us a while back) ruptured his achilles a couple of weeks ago so that's him out of contention, definitely so now that we've got Agger.

Pennant for £5m possibly,if anyone can get him sorted out then Rafa's the man to do it,didn't I read somewhere that he's a Liverpool fan?

Gerra from WBA might be worth a look at (maybe we could swap him for sicknote Kirkland)???

Pennant's a Reds fan?

Well that makes things a whole lot easier now does it? :D

Why don't we get that keeper who's always injured for West Brom? He could play for England one day! :D
