That's a fair comment.

Just say though he would cost us 4m, compare it to Simao 12m, Joaquin 20+ and anyone else you could think of.

Would it not be worth the risk ?

On a similar note though could you imagine what the dressing room would be like if Bellamy and Pennant were brought  :oh:

i understand your sentiments woof but i will just say two names and ask whether you would want these men at the club.

big Jan and Tony Adams, both had spells in klink. i know pennant is not in the same class as these two but if he was would you overlook his history

Couple of Key points to address there PeeWee . First off as you say  " big Jan and Tony Adams, both had spells in klink. i know pennant is not in the same class as these two" ,  That immediately makes the question semi redundant,if he was in the same class he'd probably still be at Arsenal  . Secondly , Molby was already one of ours so we naturally forgive him . Thirdly I wouldn't have wanted Adams even if his record was spotless .

Finally . Adams and Molby rose to the highest level , they had the maturity and character to at least make the most of their respective talent despite their "problems" . Pennant on the other hand has failed to take advantage of his abilities ,his behaviour has been immature and virtually self destructive .
He's another "young player , some ability , loads of cash and no brain "  :D  No thankyou .   :D

I'd take Pennant hands down

He's still a boy and we all made mistakes when we were young

He'll learn and what better place to do it

That boy is awesome and anyone that disagress is an idiot

Imagine what he will do under Rafa with Stevie, Carra, Didi, etc to ground him

Cantona, Ronaldo, Maradona etc all great players and all capable of the odd scandal but look at what they have brought their respective teams

:)

How old are you sunshine ?

You metion Pennant in the same breath as Cantona , Ronaldo and Maradonna .          .

I disagree that Pennant is "awesome"     guess that makes me an idiot .

I'd take Pennant anyday but I can't see Rafa Benitez gambling on a player who could harm the clubs reputation. The only way Pennant will possibly pull on a red shirt is if Roy Evans were to comeback and take the reigns but I can't see that happening.

i remember chatting to a friend once who was 'friendly' with a few players.

she said "they are just scallies come good".  i think footballers are just indicitive of society, a good mix of clever, dumb, no common sense, common sense. basically they are like the rest of us but with more money.

i think if a player is good enough and is not disruptive then he should be alllowed to play. however more to the point i personally dont think pennant is good enough to become a red. we shouldnt be settling for anything less than the best for liverpool

you only take a gamble on those who still have attitude.

if pennant sorts himself out, then theres no need to gamble is there, as we can see he plays good football.

you dont gamble on things that are ok - think about it !!

Christ sake ! if Pennant is so f*cking marvelous how come he's not still at Arsenal or playing for England ? .

He's not good enough ,that why , and I don't see why our ambitions regarding the players we sign should be lower than Arsenals .

D'Assaldedro (sp?) looks a good player, not sure how Harry got him there in the first place.

Davis from Villa doesnt look half bad either, and I think even Man U put a offer in pre season.

These are all good players but they are in the "wrong" team .

Sunderland: Jonathan Stead

Birmingham: Upson and Pennant

West Brom: Zoltan Gera

Portsmouth: Gary O'Neil

Fulham: Malbranque and Collins John

Aston Villa: Luke Moore and Gareth Barry

If he wasn't such an out of control characther then Wenger would have kept him in the Arsenal squad and he would possibly be challenging for an England placement.

It's because of his out of control behaviour that Wenger released him and the small fact he wasn't French was another reason. No club would touch Pennant apart from Leeds at the time and that's why he ended up there and that's why he ended up at Birmingham instead of remaining at Arsenal or playing for the likes of Spurs etc.

He has talent and that's quite obvious to any body who follows football with lets sign the right player policy, instead of the Championship Manager policy.

I guess Wenger and Rafa must play a lot of Championship Manager 'cause they're obviously not interested in Pennant .   :D   :D   :D

Le Tallec has shown more potential than Pennant to be honest if you look at their histories and the hype with them, so in that case we can get LT back from a struggling club and it wont cost us a thing

And with the argument that they will benefit at this club etc.  Bowyer and Bellamy are really good players, if they had the right manager and a break etc could be superb

If a break in football is playing for a huge club like Newcastle and for a lot of money and you dont take it then what does that tell you about the individual.

Whether we like it or not some players like people are bad

Pennant served one month of his sentence before being released. He was forced to wear an electronic tag for two weeks, which he also had to keep on during matches .

I see you like twisting people's words as well as not being able to read. Wenger let Pennant go because of his off the pitch behaviour and it's Pennant's behaviour that puts manager's off signing him, just because Wenger let Pennant go doesn't mean Pennant's a bad player. And I'll think you'll find you're in the minority when it comes to branding Pennant "poor".

I wait for your reply back to my post, which will completely miss the point as per usual.
