Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

My two cents...

I'd rather gamble on Gera than Pennant.  He looks to be on the up, plays with great intelligence and doesn't have the same off-field baggage.  I think he'd also suit Rafa's game plan better.

do you mean me ??

Ok what has he done then.  The odd good game. Le Tallec was being touted as the next big thing after the youth world cup, a better prospect than Pennant.

Sometimes the attitude and behaviour drags down the talent and the potential.

Wenger let Pennant go because of his off the pitch behaviour and it's Pennant's behaviour that puts manager's off signing him, just because Wenger let Pennant go doesn't mean Pennant's a bad player. And I'll think you'll find you're in the minority when it comes to branding Pennant "poor".

I wait for your reply back to my post, which will completely miss the point as per usual.

As for me "twisting peoples words" "missing the point " and "not being able to read "

If YOU read the thread you might see that I have never "branded Pennant poor" as you say .(now who can't f*cking read and twists peoples words ? ) I have stated that he has ability but I don't think he's good enough for LFC and I'm not enamoured with his behaviour and character and wouldn't want him at our club. Now if you disagree thats ok , but don't start getting cute and throwing insults my way .
I may indeed (as you say) be in a minority when it comes to my opinion of Pennant , so what ? .  Are you unable to accept that some people may not agree with you and you therefore have to start swinging your handbag ?

Grow up .

My dads a baggies fan, he's raved about Gera for the last two seasons now. I never really noticed him till just before his injury, then i thought id never hear abt him again. I must say tho he made all the difference in the 2nd half against us the other week, i was impressed, good vision & intelligence, Great Technique & balance I think he prefers to play more of a central roll tho and in this case he has no chance slotting in our side. The only other player id take is another Albion player, Curtis Davies but its the same situation, he'd never make the team ahead of Sami, Carra an Agger.

if we didn't already have the strongest central midfield in the premiership i would have had a look at george boateng, who is available on a free at the end of the season.

certainly the mancs could do a lot worse.

I'd take Pennant, I'd look at Malbranque, I'd think about O'neil for the squad and I'd use Traore, Le Tallec, Diao and the rest of our discount bin to buy them.

If Rafa won't go back for Owen, I can't imagine Baros has got a hope in hell.

On Pennant, players who transfer from smaller clubs to bigger clubs usually improve their behaviour. They are more motivated that way because they know that the expectation levels of the fans are much higher. Rafa will get his off field problems sorted out.

D'Alessandro the Argentinian midfielder is more than a bit useful ,and he is currently making Portsmouth tick in their relegation fight l
