Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I think I'm gonna spread some rumours about how Liverpool would love to sign Ronaldo, Shevchenko, Ronaldinho and Henry.

We obviously would, but it's bollox and never gonna happen.

Chelsea and Real Madrid would love to sign Gerrard? No sh*t Sherlock!

For this Rafa "story"? See the above examples

This is the worst kind of 'we have nothing to write about lets make something up' ******.  Even if there was a splinter of truth in it, there's no way in hell Benitez is that stupid.  He would be their 5th manager in a little over a year.  How insane is that meglamaniac in charge of Real Madrid anyway?  The reasons for not becoming the next manager of Real Madrid are too long and far too obvious to go into.  Close this thread.  Its pointless.

Yeah, well tough.  You're to blame.  And while we're at it, I blame you for the Chelsea result.  And f*****g Kenny retiring.  Sort it out. :D

It's not a secret that Rafa admires Real, and has expressed an interest in managing them ONE DAY.
He won't leave now, he didn't come to Liverpool to stay for a season and leave without winning anything, that would make him a failure in England. He has a debt to the club and the fans and I think he will be here for a long time.

Wouldnt put it past Real to try and get him off us.

Real Madrid have Liverpool boss Benitez on shortlist
tribalfootball.com - March 2, 2005

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez is being lined up by Real Madrid directors for a shock return to Spain next season.

Real's recent run of poor results has raised fresh doubts over the future of their Brazilian trainer Vanderlei Luxemburgo, despite him only being appointed over Christmas.

DiarioSport says Real chiefs have identified Benitez as their No1 choice to replace Luxemburgo should he fail to meet expectations.

Real will find it difficult, however, to prise Benitez away from Anfield where the Spaniard enjoys a good relationship with chief executive Rick Parry and chairman David Moores.

This is in stark contrast to what he endured at Valencia, which led to him accusing his former employers of trying to write him out of their history books this week.

as i have said from the start he would go at the drop of a hat , he is only here till he gets the job

IMO the rumour probably has a source as Real as would most football clubs probably wouldnt mind having someone like Benitez but its probably a weak or whispered rumour

IMO Benitez will probably go there one day as its the club he supports but I can see him honouring his contract here and maybe a bit more if things go our way

BTW Alonso is Basque and they tend to not get on with Madrid so cant see him going there

I get the impression that he has been building up to manage a great club and IMO he thinks and we know that he's now doing that

Well. If we lose Benitez then we are in deep sh!t. I do not think Benitez is a quitter. The setbacks he has suffered will only make the challenge more interesting and personally rewarding.

Benitez will be hard to replace. But I would love it if we got Amerigo Gallego as our next manager.
If football is banned in heaven. I'd rather go to hell.
