Man Utd Arsenal and Liverpool to move for Ajax star
By European Football - March 14 2005

Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool have a long standing interest in Ajax’s Rafael van der Vaart so the news that he wants to move in the summer will be met with some interest in boardrooms up and down the country today.

It is rumoured that van der Vaart, would prefer a move to La Liga, but could be open to persuasion about a move to England.

Spaeaking to Het Parool, van der Vaart stated:

"My contract is running for another season, but I need a new challenge."

"For the club, it's better I leave next summer, as they can earn a transfer fee for me then."

And it could be a move for the best as the player has looked stale at times this season, still despite this indifferent season he will not be short of suitors
