We would have been happy with the result before the game.
Euphoria of 3-0 and thinking way ahead to quarter finals quickly nipped in the bud by yet another Dodgy Dudek howler.I need a coffee..back in a mo.

Played competantley enough without stevie g, showing if he does go, 50m million to build the squad would be a quite adequate. Remember no one man makes a team, and greater players than him have left before.

You've got to say Biscan looked a different player to what u have ever seen before!.
he looked for the first time like an LFC player, esp for some of his intricate passing. I thought he was auditioning for the role of stevie g!
Although i fear Leverkusen will cause us a problem or two, and now they only need to win 2-0 to go through. However, we are more than capable of scoring over there. They attack well, but are gonna conceed goals too!

Better result than a 1-0 thats for sure.

Hamann played well, good tackling, Carra, nearly got a goal, Baros missed a sitter  to make it 3-0! and Dudek blundered to keep it 3-0!

All in all, enough to see us through I'm betting. I wouldn't worry, I think we have done enough to go through.

I was just thinking the second half especially, if we could just get andother 2 goals to make it 4-0, or 5-0 then the job is done and we can send the reserves to Leverkusen. in a fortnight.

RAFA, RAFAEL...RAFAEL BENITEZ!

I think Igor has had more good games than bad this season. He has been especially influential in our cup campaigns.

It is a shame - Dudeks errors often end up being what cost us dear. If we go out on away goals because he was not concentrating i sense Rafa may unleash hell!

have to confess i did loathe Igor at one stage, but with him  it seems be confidence.

I'd certainly prefer him to Murphy or Diao. They both got shown the exit door before Biscan.

I think he feels a lot of LFC fans don;t like him and want him out.

If Rafa has the confidence in him and loaned out Diao, and keeping Biscan, that must say a lot about that Rafa thinks of him.

the thing is, the Dudek error is a warning to tell us that you should never be complacent. Focus for 95 minutes!

we should not have our head in the clouds at 3-0.

Its hardly doom merchant speak..just a little realism on a scoreline that prevents us getting carried away.

A strange game. If you had offered 3-1 before the game i would have bitten your hand off. 3 nil up - pure exctasy! 30 seconds later an it feels like we've lost the game!

My thoughts on the game - Lots of commitment, effort and determination. We huffed we puffed, looked like we wanted it more than they did - Riise played a blinder - was impressed with Igor and Hamman in the middle of the park - We looked very edgy at times - I didn't think we were 3 goals better than Leverkusen but still fancy us for the return leg with the captain back, a fitter Kewell and them missing 2 players through suspension + Jeremies.

Only 3-1 result
RAFA OUT RAFA OUT ...........nah just kidding  :)

You effing beauty

Dudek howler is disappointing but in perspective who wouldnt have taken a 3-1 result before kick off with our depleted squad, not mention the fact we will get Gerrard back and Germans are going to be affected by yellow card situation.

Very intersting point mate.

I don't want to sound like "Dear Dierdre" from the sun, but you feel like we have lost cause Leverkusen look like scoring a goal or two over there.
