Fanmtastic alonso quote: - So shut it mourinho

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Morning all
Did anyone see skysports news last night?
Mourinho saying how Lampard is betetr than gerrard, but that all of his players are the best. Maybe a little toungue in cheek but i found this Alonso quote which should shut up the chelski.

"For me the defence is the best line of their team and Mourinho is a good technician.
But he is toore served in the way his team plays. I prefer the work of Benitez who takes risks with his team because it is a much better spectacle for the fans"
(courtesy of scouse lee for sending me quote)

So there u go, its all heating up before tomorrows game, and i cant wait

Have you also seen Mourinho quote about how he expects his team to be top after the next two games!

And that Lampard is better than Stevie!!! Hello - which planet is he on?

Be so funny if Liverpool and Middlesborough beat them.

obviously a manager is going to say he prefers his own players than anyone elses. benitez would say the same thing about his players. god, are we so desperate for news?

well, yes we are...lol
when mourinho said this tho and the crowd of journos laughed he just looked so dead pan. it was rather amusing. i just liked the alonso quote as for the past few years we have been one of the most boring teams in teh history of the world

Jose Mourinho is relishing the prospect of pitting his wits against Rafael Benitez for a second time and revealed he was a huge Liverpool fan in the seventies and eighties.
As the Chelsea boss prepares his side for the eagerly anticipated New Years Day clash at Anfield he admits he has nothing but the utmost respect for the his Liverpool counterpart.

"I know the work of Rafael Benitez, the style of football and the way that he defends. I also know a few things about his training methodology," says Mourinho.

"I understand the Spanish way of seeing football and playing games. But I think he also knows me and for me it is a pleasure to play a match against him.

"He did fantastic work in Valencia. We should have played the European Super Cup because we won the UEFA Cup and the Champions League but instead it was Victor Fernandez and Mr. Ranieri.

"I think it will be nice also to play against Liverpool because it is a historical club. It is a big match in England, Chelsea and Liverpool, two good teams."

Mourinho is looking forward to managing a team at Anfield for the first time and adds that his ambition is to see Chelsea emulate the European domination once enjoyed by the Reds.

"I loved the way Liverpool played in the Seventies and Eighties. I loved Kenny Dalglish, Graeme Souness, Phil Thompson, Ray Clemence and Ian Rush - now I want the same success."

at least Mourinho still respects us :)

Precisely. That i DO agree with.

So much shyte is said in the press and more than half of it should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Believe it or not though, some people actually take it seriously and it's daft.

We'll do all of our talking on the pitch tomorrow thank you very much!

Mourinhio has a huge respect for Raffa , he has said   that before and we all know  that.
When we played them at Stamford Bridge  he said it was   the Super Cup between the  former managers of the teams that won the champions league and the UEFA cup .
Yes he his going to "big" up his own players its only natural for him to do that, but waht makes it for me is Alonso,s reply .........pure gold:)

Might I remind you of Fergie? Yea he always says he respects us right before we play the scum, now does he really respect us or are those just mind games?
