9 points to grab - General

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby hobbes » Tue Dec 28, 2004 4:02 am

With the win against WBA, Liverpool has 3 subsequent matches against Southampton, Norwich and Chelsea.

The mathces has 9 points to offer. Rafa has to think of a way to ensure the players are charged full and their powers maintained consistently. Probably playing some and resting some. I am very sure he has planned it well.

Miraculous win of 0-5 against WBA definately boosted the lads. Thats how they should perform. The way the heroes do.
They know they are winning but they never gave up scoring and the attacking mood until the whistle was blown.

The only match that bothers me, is the one against Chelsea. Jose Marhinio is flying high with succesive wins. The lads should teach them abit. Let them experience loosing while they are up top. Make them fall.

Go on lads, show them what you did to Arsenel.

You have the power. Use them wisely.

We "should" kill Southampton and Norwich.

Both of them are as sh*t as West Brom.

As for Chelsea? Bring them on!!! Arsenal were arrogant too, then they learned a lesson.

I'll be happy to take 7 out of the possible 9 points for the next 3 games. I mean if we lose or tie against Southampton and Norwich, we don't deserve to be 4th this season. As for the Game against Chelski, I'm sure they will play safe and it would be hard for us to score against but I'll keep my finger crossed.:)

I think we can beat Chelsea . Beat their midfield means beat the whole team .

Between Arsenal, Chelski, the scum and us, any team on their best form is able to beat any team in the Premiership and dare I say Europe. All we gotta hope is that we are on better form on the matchday and we should be able to beat Chelsea.
Not deterring from our efforts against Arsenal, but they were pretty off that day, which only helped us for the win. Chelski are on form and we regaining it, thus I'm predicting a draw.

Of course I'd be happy with a win :D

Just because a team lose dont mean they had an off day i honestly think we made them have an off day ,We wanted it more and like as allready said somewhere else They were arrogant and cocky and didnt expect to be outplayed(arsenal that is),They didnt have an off day they just didnt have chance to have a good day now chelsea will have seen that liverpool can play football when we need to , and they will adjust accordingly i still think we will win against the ski but i just think it will be a lot harder than any win weve got this year in the Prem.

mourinho is an exceptional studier of the game - it won't have escaped his notice that we are the only team to have beaten arsenal at football (the man u game doesn't count, that was a scrap) when they came to anfield. he'll know that we are fully capable of beating them. i think that he'll maybe adjust his side accordingly and maybe play more defensive than usual. this'll be the game he's most concerned about losing so far this season - i'll bet yous.

so my prediction is a draw, and maybe not a very pretty game.

7 points would be good , i think Charlton can beat Everton and  Aston Villa hold Man Utd but  Middlesbrough will thrash Norwich

in don't see charlton beating everton, maybe a draw. i also see man u beating villa (christ, i sound like a f*ckin' clairvoyant!). but boro have been having a bit of a 'blip' recently and norwich have come along just at the right time to get a whuppin'.

It would be hard to beat chelsea. Thank god josemi is not playing as robben & duff will take him to the cleaners. In this game, a draw wouldn't be a bad result.

If we don't win the champions league, then chelsea would....

Finnan's injury could spell serious trouble for us against Chelsea. Hope to god that he's fit for it.

With him in place, I genuinely think we can take them. A lot will be made of Gerrard v Lampard, and that's potentially going to be a very, very interesting match up. If Stevie can come out on top, they'll have to go wide, and I can see us pegging them back into their half if it comes to that, regardless of how good their wingers are.

Let's hope that the 11 we put out have one of those good days. I expect Riise to line up on the left, and if he does, he's going to have to take that West Brom form to another level to get any joy out of their defence.
