Groundshare - Everton finally realised.....

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Roger Red Hat » Thu Dec 09, 2004 12:53 pm

Everton will meet with Liverpool City Council to discuss improving their 40,170-seater Goodison Park ground.
Chairman Bill Kenwright said: "(Chief executive) Keith Wyness has two weeks to come up with a plan, but he will also meet with the council next week.

"We will be having talks over improving the 'footprint' at Goodison - those are looking better than for a long time."

Despite a request by Sports Minister Richard Caborn, local rivals Liverpool are not keen on a groundshare.

The Reds insist that their planned new stadium in Stanley Park would be theirs alone - while Kenwright has also claimed that he "would rather resign than be Liverpool's tenants".

He explained: "If we can improve Goodison Park, that would be a real option.

"If we shared, it would still be three years before it happened so we would still need to do things to Goodison in the meantime."

"There is also a new site on the horizon and it is possible we will be looking into that as well."

I wonder if we could sell Anfield to the second biggest club around here......Tranmere?

Then maybe Everton could move to Tranmere.

And then maybe Goodison could become a car park, a toilet (no significant development work required) or some allotments (the pitch looks prepared already?)

:p :D
