Groundshare - What is your opinion?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

There has been quite a lot of talk of this in the last weeks; myself I don’t like the sound of a groundshare, as everyone should have there own ground. In my opinion I would rather stay as we are than groundshare with Eveton.

What do you think???

seems the board is agianst the idea laso, which is good.

from Rick Parry's AGM speech last night:

"I told you last year that the ground share debate had been raised by the North West Development Agency. I explained that the project needs a substantial amount of public funding, not simply for the stadium, but for the refurbishment of Stanley Park, the cemetery and the surrounding environment. We submitted an application for funding of the Agency, along with the City Council, a year ago and unfortunately the position has still not been resolved. The Agency has, through its Chairman, adopted the position that it would prefer to see a shared stadium.

We have rejected a number of proposals and repeatedly stated that the vast majority of our supporters are opposed to the idea. Now the Minister for Sport has become involved in an effort to resolve the position once and for all within an agreed timetable."

It would be so much better in many respects to have our own stadium.

Do they sample the atmosphere at Anfield on Championship Manager 2005?  :D

For my money, I cannot see any benefit for LFC on this issue whatsoever. I can certainly see the benefits for Everton though..............................So no for me, don't make sense.

Blue seats at anfield, if that is the outcome of this, I think we`ve got a paint-job to do

Cant see any plus points in sharing.
All we would be doing is helping the bluenoses.
Now I'm all for charity beginning at home. But not at mine.

So we'll end up with a tidy little ground that we can afford on our own and the mancs will keep on pulling in gate receipts £1'5 million more than us,each game, and we'll still be playing catch up.
The club is not just about Anfield which bears no relationship to the ground that I grew up in. The club needs to take the next step and anticipate the need for an 80K seater stadium. The talk is that the bluenoses would not want part ownership but a rental agreement - so friggin what? It doesn't mean your kids will be born whistling Z Cars.
The modern game has left us behind in many ways we cannot afford to miss out again.
