hyppia played well today, the whole defence did, he was sloppy on occasions but hyppia's never been brilliant on the ball. Today he did everything thats he's good at, blocking, tackling, winning headers and and clearances, to criticise him today is harsh

also i thort that a bit as i was watching the match on the pitch i couldnt really hear the commentary and thort we did use the long ball a bit 2 much even if mellor is a big target, but ey im not 1 2 complian when u beat the gooners lol unbeatable my ****** :P

I have been critical of Hyypia's performances lately, but today he did well. Carragher was sensational as usual. Riise and Finnan had good games. All in all our back 4 performed well. Biggest disappointments were Kewell (as usual) and Sinama. Both these players will never be good enough. Kewell is a fat lazy money loving dog, and Sinama is to small and weak. Mellor has a lot of work to do, and Nunez was rusty when brought on as a substitute. Obviously a few weeks short of match fitness. Good win, but I fear all our games will be just as hard to win until we get a better strikeforce and some decent wingers.

well you didnt watch the same game as me then, pongolle showed some good touches and skill and played quite well considering he was played out of position

Wouldn't say Pongolle was a star, but he turned two Arsenal players at one go, one I think was Vierra. Made them look right dummies down in the right corner in the second half. Gem of a moment.

I honestly can't believe what i'm reading .We've just beat a team who won the league at a canter and your still moaning and slagging people off
i.e kewell,pongolle,hyppia.when are people going to realise that the team we have got is all that we've got and looking for scape goats even after a performance like this one is not going to do anyone any good what so ever

How old are you Fowler? Pongolle did nothing today, he is not a winger, and he is too small and weak to play up front. Just because he went past two arsenal players and gave us a few seconds of entertainment does not mean he can hide for 89 minutes. Kewell played like a wee girl. Let Everton have him on a free together with Diao.

Didn't think Sinama offered a lot today but he's not a right winger. He's hardly had much first team football so to judge him already is unfair. In previous matches I always thought he looked pretty lively. Give him a decent run and judge him them.

Its worth mentioning that Harry Kewell had a role in both our goals today.

Surprised at the amount of criticism here after we've just beaten Arsenal for the first time in three years. 2nd defeat in 55 for them in the Premiership. And thats coming off the back of three consecutive defeats as well. If there was ever a time to be happy, this is it!

Review of the team:

Riise - Played well bit did get tired towards the end

Hyypia - Had a good game today but sometimes gives the ball away and plays risky but had a good game

Carra - I would not be supprised if he can even replace the likes of campbell, terry and ferdinand at the England squad - love his no nonsense style

Finnan - Had a good game today the lad

Kewell - never really impressed me but did keep Lauren outta the picture, i feel kewell doesnt care about football anymore

Gerrard Alonso - Nice work but did dive at the beginning but who gives a ****** GERRARDS the man

Mellor - didn't do jacksh*t towards the end BENNI START HIM EVERYGAME! lol

Pongolle - worked hard today

Nunez - played well when he came on

Partick vieira - diver and a cheat

I was on the arsenal forums and they were saying sell vieira in jan and kept slagging reyes form etc.
