But my point is Dalglish he's still a quality player. He's not become ****** over night. Anyone who knows the game at all will back this up.

You are the most overpaid player in international football. You are not good enough for Milton Keynes Dons. Liverpool should hire a hitman to end your days. You cost us 3,5 million pounds in wages every year. That is a complete waste of money. You ain't fit to wear the red shirt. When will managment introduce more performance related pay packages? Kewell getting twice the amount of Xabi Alonso is a complete joke, bad for morale, bad for the fans. We never threathned Boro, they had us from the start til' the end. Houllier's mess is a hell of a job to clean up. I am happy we have the best manager in England, that is at least a big relief and a guarantee for success in the long term. I fear a hammering in Monaco, they are a much better team than Boro. Henchoz must be a better player than Hyypia right now? And please drop Kewell, he is a disgrace, I rather have Dudek as a striker.

I think most of our problem occur becos of hyppia. I mean, hamann (who is a great striker of the ball) has to play anchor becos of hyppia. Hyppia's pace is not the only problem. When opposing players run at him, he also can't stop them.

Now we are in a delima. We have only so much money. So should we buy centreback or striker in jan ?  My take is we have to buy a striker who is a good header & can hold up play. If we use up all the funds, then replace hyppia with traore. We can't have hamann playing anchor all the time. He is a great striker of the ball and should help out with the attack most of the time.

On a plus note josemi had a his best game in the while. Maybe it is because finnan providing him a lot of cover.

Kewell has admitted that he is carrying an injury.

I think it is best for both parties if he just goes for the fcuking operation now. Not next month. Not in the summer. But NOW.
He should get his injuires sorted now. He has no pace, can't even take on defenders anymore, can't cross, can't score. So what else can he do ?

I still believe in kewell. He was great in the 1st half of last season, so i know he is not over the hill. But why doesn't he just get his fckuing injuries sorted out

So should we buy centreback or striker in jan ?

Both, the Spanish market is cheap to a certain degree. Rafa knows the market well enough to find what he needs for a low price.

i dont think he will be staying long with us anyway , as soon as he gets a better job offer in spain he will be off

If rafa had the 10 million (diouf), 5 million (diao) & 3 million (cheyrou), we would be above the blue ******E

He was the best signing we made this season. Hell, he is the best signing we made in 5 years.

He did not become bad overnight but as years goes by, he has become (sort of) a liability over time.
You acknowledged that he is not the same player he once was, why then do you suggest that he could walk into ANY side in Europe? If the fans can see that pace is his achilles heels, surely can the rival managers and teams are gonna turn that against us. At this level, we cannot afford any weak links in our back line or we are gonna get slaughtered by any half decent teams. I still believe Hyppia can read the game as good as any good defenders, but when the body cannot perform and match the opposition strikers, there is so much one can do, even for a great player like Hyypia.

Tears came out from my eyes everytime I looked at Houllier's heedless arrogance and expensive indulgence that will take us quite a while to recover.
All I can say is don't be too quick to pass judgement on Rafa as he have to pick up the pieces. He is out TOP man. Period!

this show you don't know anything about rafa. He will not go to madrid becos he knows he will not be in charge of the team. Rafa is too good a managers to go to madrid. How many world class managers has madrid in the last few years compared to their world class players.....  ???

the only thing remotely positve (and i have to really look for the silver lining) i can take from this game is that, the squad will be fired up against monaco. I can see us getting a 0-0 draw from there. Another draw against olympicos should be enuff to take us to the knock-out stages.

Rafa has a point. Boro's goal also was offside & the ref allowed it. Steve Bennet....another dickhead.

http://www.liverpool-mad.co.uk/news....=189264

Rafael Benitez was left wondering who paid the referee, after a Luis Garcia goal was incorrectly ruled offside, then Steve Bennett chose to ignore the offside rule and allow Zenden to score Middlesbrough's second goal of their 2-0 win.

"We scored and they scored today, but the referee said yes to them and no to us," said a frustrated Benitez.

"I feel Garcia's goal should have stood because the ball appeared to come off a Middlesbrough defender before it reached Garcia.

"I'm not sure about Zenden's goal either. Maybe that was offside but it was very close."

"We started well for the first twenty minutes. We had plenty of space and some possibilities but after that spell they controlled the game. We didn't clear the ball properly and that cost us.

"Once you lose goals it makes it more difficult because it means you have to attack quicker and then they are more dangerous on the break."

Real sad performance by us lads. Hypia was really poor in his game last night. Kewell has got his playing rights long expired and revoked! Midfield was not working as a unit at all.By far, Carra played his best at his level, Xabi wasn't that bad but was very average, Garcia is not confident in away games. Most of us are right on Hypia and Kewell, but for Hypia, he is the better of the lot we have. Hypia has lost an inch of everything, but the opponents has gained a yard of everything over him. Can't say the same for Kewell though. He wasn't the player that we knew of.

It just shows that it'll be a long journey to bring us back to 4th position this season. I just wished that we show quality in reaching the top 4 early by March.

The next match, away, think will be another test for us as an european force.

Benitez has always been able to shuffle his teams well and grind out results. I just find that our players just does not have the self-belief that he has. Benitez has the belief to build LFC back as a contender in all championships. Now its up to the players to deliver their will to win and play good football.

The squad now has no rooms to sell any players. Even though there may be acquisitions soon, I still think that we should keep what we have now.

If I were Neil Mellor I would probably splash a glass of cold beer at Rafa. 2 goals in a cup game not enough to get a starting place??

Luis Garcia and Kewell haven't played as strikers for a long time. Wtf is Rafa's thinking?
Doesn't matter whether Zenden's goal was offside or not. We were beaten.
Alonso looked disinterested and his passing was suicidal at times: what was he thinking in giving the ball straight to Downing for their second goal?

This disturbed me. When the ball was given away I couldn't find Josemi on the TV screen....lol (He was in the other half??)

You cant blame Xabi he was exremely tired, spain on wednesday night, back to lpool thursday, away to boro saturday. The traveling alone would take its toll, anyway, Biscan should have played, and I hope to see him on tuesday against Monaco.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.
