From what I can see on this forum there are two main groups of fans.

The first group are those who go ape every time we lose, saying we have rubbish players and a rubbish manager. Often these people (although not all of them) are the same people who go over the top with their praise after we win a game. I disagree with these fans views.

The other group are those who see any criticism, even constructive criticism, as being disloyal to the club. These fans seem to be on a crusade to prove that they are the "real" fans and better than all the others as they don't criticise the team at all. Again I disgaree with these people, as I think their views can be elitist and sometimes as irrational as those "ficklebugger" fans who swing from heaping praise on the club one week and then slating it the next.

I tend to try to take a realistic view, recognisning that the club has problems which need to be sorted out. I think that the appointment of Benitez was probably the correct decision. However, I don't think being angry after today's game is being disloyal, as the performance was a disgrace and the attitude of certain players was anethma to the spirit and values of our great club.

well said, i belive in critiscm when its due

You are damm right it is not gonna happen. No one says he will bring us the Champions League and Premiership title this season, but he is miles better than Houllier and his track record speaks for himself.

We gave Houllier 6 seasons and £120M, why not give Rafa a season or two to mould his team before passing your immature judgement?

Sorry for the strong words, but the garbage coming out from your mouth questioning Rafa's ability and integrity is a disgrace and no less!

There seems to be a problem with "heart" at the club which has lingered since the Roy Evans' day. There are not many players now that will burst themselves on the pitch out of love for the club. Steven Gerrard, Sammi Hyppia and Jamie Carragher are the only 3 current first team members who really try their best, although in fairness to Gonzalez Josemi and Steve Finnan, they more often that not try their best.

I've seen John Arne Riise a lot of times being interviewed on tv and he talks about loving Liverpool, but you wouldn't have thought so today. Its almost as if he's used to the occasional disasterous result and it doesn't bother him.

I wasn't directing any of that at anyone in particular, lakes, it was a reply to your post on the forum.

I do think that there may be some truth in lakes' comment on Benitez having a soft spot for Madrid.

Then again, Alex Ferguson had (and probably still has) a soft spot for Glasgow Rangers before he joined Man UTD but that hardly mattered, did it?

Benitez has recently stated that he loves the club and the city and wants to stay long term. He says that his family has settled already and has no plans of uprooting them.

.. just seen and Interview with Benitez.. the Boss' expression tells the whole story ... when asked about the injuries.. he replied that.. there is a squad of players ... who must perform ... no excuses from him...

..he has improved the side .. but there is much to be done... I am an optimist about the future... but any improvement, revolutions, reorgansiation .. will be topsy-turvy... high's and lows... optimist because we have the right man in the Job... but this is not an overnight job.

I have not seen the match so can't comment on the proceedings... but it is dissappointng to here that some of the players were just not at the  races today.. if u give it your all and lose.. well what can u say.. but if you just don't "turn-up" .. it lets the Boss and fans down... Bentiz's expression tells me a bollocking is a coming... big time... :(
THE BRENDAN REVOLUTION IS UPON US !

Well said Zara.

Sometimes teams lose and there's nothing you can do about it. Teams sometimes have off days: Arsenal lost to Chelsea in the Champions League last year, Ac Milan, even in their great spell in the late 1980s and early 1990s, sometimes played poorly and lost.

Thats a fact of life in football and often there is nothing you can do about it.

What galls me after today's performance was not a small town club like Middlesboro outpassing us and opening up our defence almost at will, it was the stoical look on the Liverpool player's faces as Boro did so.

Loyalty and money are mutually exclusive in football nowadays (...except loyalty to money though!!!)

Another who will give his all is Biscan (and I will add Baros to this list as well). If given a choice of ability but no heart (e.g, Kewell) and full effort but limited ability (e.g, Biscan) I know who I will go for everyday.
