LIVERPOOL v Norwich FA Cup 5th round 20:15 ITV

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby Reg » Wed Mar 02, 2022 2:26 pm

Liverpool vs Norwich kicks-off at 8:15pm on Wednesday, March 2 at Anfield and is being shown on ITV and ITV Hub.
Reasonable to assume after Sunday's game with extra time that Klopp might decide to rest some of the key players for this one but they'll still want to win. The lads will be tired but still buzzing. If they play tight they can overwhelm Norwich and go through to the 6th round:

                            Ali
Gomez   Konate    VVD    The Greek
                         Fabinho
               Jones  Hendo  Thiago
                   Jota Bobby Diaz

Norwich could be without six members of their squad from the 2-0 defeat to Southampton on Friday, although Jakob Sorensen (knee) will undergo a late fitness test to determine his availability. Former Liverpool loanee Ozan Kabak (shoulder), Max Aarons (knock) and Brandon Williams (knock) are all doubts, while Adam Idah (knee) and Andrew Omobamidele (lower back) are ruled out.

The team selection will be interesting. Got to be careful because Norwich have got nothing else to go for. Should have more than enough though.

Selection will be interesting as we've got West Ham on Sat who are aiming for a UCL spot.

Alisson
Milner
Konate
Gomez
Tsimikas
Henderson
Chamberlain
Jones
Minamino
Origi
Jota

Decent team, didn't expect some of those to start to be honest (Hendo, Jota, Ali). Definitely should be good enough to beat these.

2-0 Reds Minamino x2 on 39 minutes. Lads are playing well, we have great squad depth now.

Nice to see Minamino continuing his fine form in the cups. Wouldn't mind going all the way in this cup as well.

Did Jones go off from a injury do we know? I could hear Klopp screaming at him loads in that first half to be quicker at moving the ball, I wonder if that's why he took him off.

A bit of a toll at the end...but we are safety thru to QF. Quadruple is still ON

Job done really, given the number of changes and the scratch nature of the side a performance for the ages  was never realistically on the cards. The main thing is that we are through, by my reckoning one more win and we are back at Wembley for the semi's. Definitely starting to get 1977/2001 vibes about this season. Exciting times.

Bland game, typical mid season when the teams in third gear.

Thought we were poor for the most part. Minamino looked good in the first half but was marked out of it in the second.

Gomez and Tsimikas were awful and Ox put in another dud display.

Thought we did ok, but obviously the "quality" the first choice eleven bring wasn't there. A couple of very loose balls from Gomez illustrated why he's now way down in the pecking order at the back. Was surprised to see Milner at right back and despite his rustiness wondered if perhaps Gomez would have had a better game in that position.

Draw for the next round tonight, horrible feeling we'll get Chelsea or City !

Not a bad draw for the next round. We have the winner of Notts County and Huddersfield.
