Any more news on the possibility of Cech coming our way? I thought that had a lot of credibility in so far as I could see Maureen doing it....not sure who their #2 keeper would become though if Cech left and perhaps they'd want to keep that security as they push for the league.

I just have the feeling that Cech would settle our defence down a lot.

The Berahino saga continues to rumble on.

There is every chance that the future of West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino won't be decided until the very end of the January transfer window, with £20m the latest price quoted for the Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur target.

The Independent reports that West Brom don't want to part with the 21-year-old, but if they are forced into selling their prized asset then it will cost the Reds or Spurs £20m to land the Englishman.

Both Brendan Rodgers and Mauricio Pochettino view the youngster as the ideal attacker to come in and improve their respective failing front lines.

Tottenham could be set to beat Liverpool to the signing of Aston Villa's Fabian Delph, by making an early cut-price bid for the midfielder, according to reports.

Delph has been linked with a move away from Villa Park in recent weeks, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, when he will be available on a free transfer.

And according to the Mirror, Spurs could be ready to take advantage of Villa's situation, by offering as little as £3m for the England international this month.

Boss Mauricio Pochettino may be willing to add one of his surplus players into the mix to seal the deal, with Aaron Lennon, Andros Townsend, Moussa Dembele, Emmanuel Adebayor and Paulinho all expected to be allowed to depart White Hart Lane for the right price.

Liverpool have also strongly been linked with a move for Delph, while other clubs may come into the fray before the end of the month.

We have loads like him, plus there's also Suso and Ibe on loan, we have plenty of wingers/attacking midfielders. Should concentrate on a striker and a keeper, good ones though not f*cking Neto.

Suso is out of contract in the summer.

I know but he's ours at the moment. I'm sure he'll sign a new contract if he's given a chance to play for us. He's a talented kid as well so why waste money on someone new when we already have talented players that we're not even using.

Doubt he will sign as if he does then he will be shoved out the door on loan again. We had our chance to get him to sign by integrating him into the team this season but we didn't and wanted to send him out on loan again despite him getting assurances from rodgers last january that he wouldn't. The lad probably has a larder full of snake oil at home and isn't buying anymore.
There are a lot of reports saying he has agreed a deal with milan already.

From what I've heard we are only interested in loaning Shaqiri in this window with a view to buying in the summer but with no commitment. Doesn't sound like we'll make a perm move for him this window.

Would have loved him in the summer but since then we've added Lallana and Markovic to Sterling and Coutinho to the list of players who can play in the wide areas. Not sure I see the logic in buying another player who can play in those positions, especially with the development of Ibe.

It sounds as though Inter are pursuing a perm deal and offering him a guaranteed spot in the starting 11 so I think it's more likely he'll end up there.

One thing about Shaqiri is that his attitude is not good, and is one of the reasons he isn't getting much game time at BM on top of the fact that they don't really think he's good enough. He was brought to BM as replacement for Ribery, but because of his attitude (just one of a few things), they want him out of the Club. Think he may well go to Inter Milan or Juventus??  Imo, LFC should stay well away from him.

Inter Milan have made the loan signing of Chelsea midfielder Mohamed Salah their top priority this month, allowing Liverpool to complete the highly-anticipated signing of Bayern Munich's Xherdan Shaqiri.

The Serie A outfit had been interested in signing Bayern winger Shaqiri, but have now dropped out of the race after Brendan Rodgers offered the Swiss star a lucrative long-term deal.

Liverpool are also still interested in purchasing a striker this month, and have already made an enquiry for Porto hitman Jackson Martinez.

In-demand West Brom striker Saido Berahino will be sold in the January transfer window if the Premier League strugglers receive a bid in excess of £20million, Sky sources understand.

Talks regarding a new contract at the Hawthorns for the 21-year-old were temporarily put on hold before Christmas, and Baggies technical director Terry Burton says that the final decision on Berahino's future will now rest in the hands of new head coach Tony Pulis.

However, it is believed that West Brom have not as yet had any offers for the England U21 international, whose contract runs until the summer of 2017.

Both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked in recent weeks with Berahino, who has scored eight goals in 20 Premier League games this season.

At the same time, though, the Merseysiders and the north Londoners have each distanced themselves from the forward of late.

And with Berahino having scored four times in West Brom's 7-0 thrashing of Gateshead in the FA Cup third round on Saturday, there is a feeling that Pulis now wants the player to stay at the club and aid their fight against relegation between now and the end of the campaign.

He has 18 months left on his contract and isn't signing a new one. That's the only reason Bayern are willing to sell. They refused to sell him in the summer and have been trying to get him to sign a new contract.

There is no shame in being a very able deputy to Robben and Ribbery who are two of the best in the world in their positions and playing for the best club side in the world after Real Madrid.

After Sanchez went to Arsenal I was hoping we would sign Shaqiri. He'll be a bargain for someone at 10 mil.

By the way, everyone should remember that we are being investigated by UEFA for possible breaches of Financial Fair Play rules and although the club is confident that we are OK it must mean we are at least borderline.

This means we are not in a position to spend big on transfer fees and wages.

It's not a 'possible breach' LFC have breached the FFP rules.

BM didn't sell Shaqirir because no one was willing to pay the money they wanted for him. He has caused trouble and as a result BM want to get rid....

Rumours that Suso has agreed a 4 year deal with AC Milan. His contract is up this summer. Bad kudos to let him leave, a very talented player...
